Job Description

The Supervisor- Warehouse Distribution is responsible for leading the shift in areas of shipping, loading, receiving, warehouse storage, product rotation, inventory accuracy, productivity, quality, and safety.

What your day will look like:
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train associates
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Appraise performance
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Builds positive associate morale
  • Coordinates all shipping/receiving along with transportation
  • Oversees all inventory control and product rotation
  • Manage Shipping/Receiving Department, Inventory, Repack, Gate, or Night Loading
  • Maintains responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the units listed above
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Accurately approve and maintain employee time approval
  • Manage employee scheduling such as vacation, sick, and requested time off
  • Train employees on OSHA monthly trainings
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management

+ 20,000 sq. ft
+ Direct oversight of 4 warehouse associates and 3 delivery drivers

**Responsibilities**
+ Provide strategic leadership for our (business unit) Warehouse
+ Promote and drive safety daily in the workplace, crafting a safe work environment for associates
+ Provide consistent communication to associates and counterparts
+ Continue to increase quality in customer deliveries
+ Drive high levels of inventory integrity within the building
+ Maintain associate engagement throughout the warehouse

**Qualifications**
+ 5 years' experience in distribution management supervising 10+ employees in a distribution/warehouse environment
+ A strong background in Warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory is required
+ Must have leadership experience in leading and developing a team, mentoring, coaching, training, and performance management
+ Ability to work with people and build an environment that is positive and engaging for the associates
+ Excellent interactive communication skills with ability to effectively communicate to different levels of the organization
+ Strong computer skills to include expertise in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
+ Experience managing a team of delivery drivers is a plus
+ Material Handling Equipment Certification

- Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.
- Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan. Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control.
- Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
- Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed.
- Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)
- Other duties assigned by manager.
**SUPERVISION:**
- Direct: Union and/or non-union warehouse on-floor associates (Loaders, Selectors, Receivers, Forklift drivers, etc.)
**RELATIONSHIPS**
- Internal: Warehouse leaders and coworkers; Internal customers across departments (e.g., Sales)
- External: N/A
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- The work takes place in normal warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5 degrees.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution required.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
**Travel:**
-10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training.
**Education/Training:**
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
Licenses/Certifications:
- HACCP certification a plus.
- PCQI certification a plus.
**PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:**
Must be able to perform the following physical activities for described length of time:

6 (Manual Dexterity: Typing, use of office machines such as copiers, printers)

+ Establish standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping of products and materials.
+ Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
+ Review work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and issue work assignments.
+ Leads a team of warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials.
+ Schedule pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials.
+ Prepare or direct preparation of reports, and operations maintenance and safety manuals.
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
+ This position requires operation of a company vehicle, or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Generally has 5+ years of experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Forklift experience preferred.
+ Knowledge of construction and industrial products.
+ Spanish language proficiency.
