As our Power Systems Engineer II , you will:

  • Coordinate, review, and process flowgate requests from MISO operations, stakeholders, and transmission provider

  • Apply advanced power engineering concepts to evaluate complex data and recommend multiple solutions

  • Engineer solutions for Seams initiatives affecting multiple departments and companies

  • Perform one of the following:

  • Maintain and analyze Available Flowgate Capacity (AFC) models, Interchange Distribution Calculator (IDC), and Native Network Load (NNL) processes

  • Perform and coordinate AFC modeling utilizing TARA power systems software

  • Collaborate on new initiatives for optimizing transmission access and market processes

  • Participate in critical transmission upgrade studies and external working groups to foster better cross-border reliability

To be successful as our Power Systems Engineer II , we’re looking for the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or Computer Engineering

  • At least two years of experience with power systems software such as PSSe, MUST, TARA, and electrical engineering models

  • Familiarity with NERC regulatory compliance

  • Project management abilities, from developing and coordinating project plans to execution

  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, Python, and various operating platforms (UNIX, Windows, Linux)

  • Understanding of FERC regulations and regulatory requirements

  • Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

+ 12 or more years experience in the design engineering and/or management of utility type projects.

**General Summary**
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Electrical Engineering or senior staff, the Electrical Engineer - Power Systems will specialize in performing and documenting power system studies, including short circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and arc flash hazard studies. The engineer will provide detailed engineering analysis for industrial, commercial, educational, governmental, and healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires proficiency in power system modeling software, field data collection, and collaboration with project teams to deliver high-quality, reliable electrical engineering solutions.
**Essential Job Functions:**
+ Perform short circuit analysis to evaluate fault currents and ensure proper short-circuit current ratings of electrical equipment.
+ Conduct overcurrent protection device coordination studies to determine overcurrent protective device settings for selective tripping and ensure system reliability.
+ Evaluate systems for selective coordination where required per NFPA 70 and recommend solutions to comply with NFPA 70.
+ Perform comprehensive arc flash hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E to determine the arc flash boundaries, incident energy, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
+ Evaluate and recommend arc flash mitigation strategies to reduce incident energy levels.
+ Create arc flash labels in accordance with NFPA 70E and client standards.
+ Conduct site visits to apply arc flash labels.

In this function, you will:

+ Assigned to an "On Call" rotating system

V2X seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to support a critical product sustainment program. The Engineer would perform hands-on troubleshooting of failed hardware returned from our customer, establish requirements to address obsolete subsystems and components, perform trade studies on commercially available replacement parts, lead functional test efforts to quality new item use, and support the Chief Engineer and program leads on all technical sustainment initiatives.
The product in question contains power supplies with filtering, analog receivers and transmitters, processors, FPGAs, RF switching, antennas, and digital communications interfaces including MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, and RS-170 interface. The successful candidate must have significant background in these areas, or demonstrate sufficient aptitude to quickly come up to speed where needed. As required, the Electrical Engineer will lead/perform the following tasks:
+ Perform test and troubleshooting of customer hardware. Support may include travel to FMS customer sites.
+ Support program ERBs/CCBs as lead EE for the system
+ Provide engineering support to manufacturing personnel during build/repair activities
+ Participate in test equipment updates and modifications
+ Support Government certification of test equipment modifications
+ Lead efforts to source and/or design replacement parts for obsolete or near obsolete items
**Security Clearance & Other Requirements:** This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements. A current Secret clearance is highly desired. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required.

V2X is growing! V2X is looking for an **Electrical Engineer II** to join our team!
The position requires the candidate to troubleshoot circuit card manufacturing defects, support Root Cause Corrective Action reports, synthesize solutions, and communicate to the wider product team. Initially the position requires the candidate assist in a production support capacity for a low-rate initial production design. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked to design and develop circuit card assemblies (CCA) and modules such as test adapters and fielded systems. The Electrical Engineer should be experienced in aspects of circuit card design from concept through delivery to higher level assemblies as evidenced by successful design completions (including hardware/firmware designs with microcontrollers or microprocessors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART). The candidate and team will be required to integrate aircraft AC and DC power, low voltage control signals, Ethernet, digital discrete input/output, and analog signals for the functional system.
The candidate shall utilize simulation tools such as LTSpice or PSpice to model electronics behavior. The candidate shall design analog circuits to meet a set of requirements. The candidate shall perform component selection and schematic capture in Altium Designer and Siemens Xpedition. The candidate shall guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of circuitry and technical drawing creation. The candidate shall utilize analysis tools such as Mathcad and/or Matlab to assess electrical design robustness of circuitry. The candidate shall perform design reviews, equipment integration, equipment characterization, and testing which will require a high degree of onsite presence at a minimum of three days locally, immediately.
The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite; routine communication will occur through MS Teams, OneNote, Azure DevOps, Excel, and e-mail.
**Additional responsibilities include:**
+ Work within cross functional teams
+ Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule.
+ Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff.
