• Work closely with Design Engineers while developing new assemblies/new design concepts
• Design mechanical parts and assemblies according to sketches, diagrams, blueprints and other instructions using Inventor 3D Cad & AutoCad 2D; including assembly drawings and part detail drawings

Summary:

Design and engineer a variety of electrical products (lighting cabinets, panelboards, switchboards, switchgear, control panels, etc.) that integrate new and existing hardware/software for complete and functional operation. Field measure and repair customer's equipment as required. Keeping a working knowledge of companies fabrication methods, machinery, and programming software to improve products and processes.

This is a full-time salaried position.

Specific Duties Include:
• Reviews project specifications, plans, and requirements to assist sales in the preparation of quotations conveying price, delivery and technical information to customers.
• Ensure that processes, construction, installation, and operational requirements meet specifications, codes, and end-user expectations.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years' experience or Electrical System Design expert with 5+ years' experience.
• Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) software is required.
• Understanding of 3-phase power systems is preferred.
• Understanding of low voltage and/or medium voltage electrical equipment is preferred.
• Experience in sheet metal manufacturing and electrical equipment design.
• Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish daily tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Own design activities through life of development programs (from concept through detail design to production release).

• Develop CAD 3D models and associated drawings and other documentation.

• Design high speed rotating assemblies including shafts, housings, bearing cooling flow paths, seals, etc.

• Support high speed bearing selection and design.

• Support strategic new business opportunities and IR&D efforts including rapid iterations to at least a preliminary machine cross section

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field

• Must have a minimum 5 years experience in the mechanical layout and design of high-speed turbomachinery (speed greater than 30,000 RPM) for aerospace applications including axial fans, centrifugal blowers, centrifugal and/or mixed flow compressors, and radial inflow and axial turbines. Plus experience with designing internal machine gas paths and seals for motor and bearing cooling
