Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located **onsite** in Melbourne, FL.
**Accomplish**
You will contribute in the research, design, analysis, manufacture, and testing associated with aircraft Support Equipment.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Mechanical design of test, measurement, and handling equipment used on military aircraft.
+ Gathering of data, requirements development, interfacing with suppliers, and performing basic stress and tolerance analysis
+ Acting as manufacturing liaison during build process of your project to ensure overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
+ Development of test plans and performing environmental testing of Support Equipment
+ Testing and integration of manufactured Support Equipment on aircraft
+ Basic knowledge of design and analysis tools for mechanical design as well as basic drafting skills to include a working knowledge of solid modeling techniques (NX, Pro Engineer, or Catia).

Primary Level Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $05,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: 86,600.00 - 130,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. + Experience with CAD (particularly SOLIDWORKS), fabrication drawings, and basic modeling techniques.

+ Knowledge of and ability to use common hand tools.

Leidos' **Defense Systems Rapid Integration and Prototyping Department** is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in designing and being hands-on with cutting-edge sensor platforms and ancillary equipment supporting DoD customers and servicemembers.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Design and develop electromechanical assemblies and supporting parts, including: Electronics enclosures and packaging, mobile platforms, machined and sheet metal parts, 3D printed parts.
+ Create Technical Data Packages up to MIL-STD-31000 Level II requirements.
+ Contribute to program planning, risk mitigation, and requirements development.
+ Collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and program staff to deliver unique solutions, on time.
+ Document and present ideas accurately and concisely at design reviews.
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with 2+ years of applicable experience or master's degree.
+ Mechanical design experience
+ 3D CAD and 2D drawing experience
+ Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems
+ Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
+ Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ SolidWorks CAD and 2D drawing experience
+ Cradle-to-grave design of electromechanical systems
+ Radar or sensor system experience
+ EPDM and/or Windchill PLM experience
+ Static FEA and thermal analysis experience
