Responsibilities
As a Meat Packer , your main responsibilities will include:
- Receiving & Inspection: Verify incoming products against purchase orders and inspect for quality.
- Sorting & Packaging: Organize meat products by type, cut, and temperature needs; package using boxes, trays, or bags.
- Labeling & Portioning: Accurately label and portion products according to specifications and standards.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate scales, vacuum sealers, and labeling machines.
- Quality Control: Follow standard procedures for consistency, portion control, and product presentation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production team to maintain efficient workflow.
- Cleanliness & Sanitation: Keep work area clean and follow all food safety and hygiene practices.
- Inventory Support: Record packaging quantities and report discrepancies.
- Safety First: Adhere to PPE use, safe handling of equipment, and report hazards or equipment issues.
- Training Participation: Engage in ongoing training to stay current on food safety and quality standards.
- Teamwork: Maintain a respectful, productive team environment.
- Flexibility: Willing to work varied shifts to meet operational needs.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma preferred
- Previous experience in food packaging or warehouse environments is a plus
- Willingness to learn and follow established processes
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
- Positive attitude and commitment to a safe, productive workplace
- Frequently lift, carry and package products
- Stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods on concrete or cold storage floors.
- Perform repetitive movements: bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, squatting, grasping.

- Work in fast-paced environments requiring dexterity and attention to detail.
- Required use of PPE (steel-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, etc.)
- Maintain endurance for continuous, physically demanding tasks.

+ Compound formulas accurately by weight and ingredients, ensuring the best methodology is utilized based upon the product or mix.
+ Apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use to ensure quality and consistency in batches.
+ Follow all quality assurance instructions on formulas using proper compounding techniques to ensure quality samples.
+ Maintain inventory information on filling materials and report any shortages to the supervisor.
+ Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws while maintaining good housekeeping practices.
