About the Role:
You will:
- Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations. Destinations include job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, facilities of other wholesalers, or other locations as directed by management.
- Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered. Secure the load properly so that nothing will shift, get damaged, or fall from the truck. Ensure that the necessary equipment to safely unload the merchandise is available.
- Understand the shipping documents that are associated with the merchandise for each delivery and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
- Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
- Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it where the receiving party wants it. Obtain legible signature for all merchandise delivered per Company policy and procedure.
- Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing the material to the customer.
- Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Load the truck at other locations with merchandise. This includes merchandise picked up at vendor locations, returned by customers, and purchased from other wholesalers.
- Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered in the course of making deliveries.
- Inspect the truck and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure from the Hajoca location. Keep truck clean of debris in cab and body.
- Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck. At the end of the workday, complete the Driver's Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when driving a delivery vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more if a defect or deficiency is found.
- At the end of the workday, remove keys from the truck and store keys in the approved location.
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
About You:
- Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs. As a non-CDL driver, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Possess a proper and valid driver's license
- Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
- Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.

- Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.

We are growing and have a position available for an experienced CDL Driver "Class A" for a landscape company.
Must have clean driver's license, and experience in hauling trees and heavy equipment operations. Must have the ability to operate a front-end loader and perform other physical labor as needed. Competitive pay, with available benefits after 90 days
Essential Requirements and Knowledge:
1. Good working track record with 4-5 years of nursery experience with understanding of production.
2. Have a good knowledge of plant material, and horticultural practices
3. Knowledge of safe operation of landscape and maintenance equipment.
4. Well organized and detail oriented
5. Safe driving record
6. Pass pre-employment CDL Drug Testing and evaluation of essential job functions
Responsibilities and Duties :
Include but are not limited to the following
- Technical Knowledge- Able to perform all functions of the job. Able to perform the quality and quantity of work necessary. Is knowledgeable of general, overall business operations and expectations. Maintain a clean and valid Commercial Driver's License. Keeps abreast of changing laws and regulations.
- Customer Service (Including internal customers) - Consistently provides excellent customer service to all customers. Practices excellent customer service skills in all interactions. Willingness to be cross utilized in landscape crews as needed.
- Communication - Receives direction and feedback well from others. Informs supervisors, managers, and co-workers (crew) of key issues as appropriate. Maintain daily logbooks.
- Teamwork - Maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers and managers. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills while gaining respect and positively influencing others. Promotes teamwork and a positive attitude within the work environment.
- Reliability - Is punctual and adheres to attendance standards consistently. Completes work assigned on a timely basis.
- Appearance - Wears appropriate attire, according to the uniform policy, and adheres to grooming standards. Demonstrates a professional image when representing the Company.
- Safety - Follows all procedures which ensure a safe environment for themselves, co-workers and customers and Company. Conduct routine vehicle and equipment inspections.
