Position Summary:

The Citrix Engineer will be responsible for the operational support and internal project initiatives involving a 24/7 Citrix Environment. The candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance, support, and enhancements to the Citrix environment - including management of infrastructure servers, appliances and updating all published business critical applications and virtual desktops as directed. Advanced knowledge of CVAD, AppLayering (ELM) Provisioning Services, WEM, StoreFront, NetScaler, FAS, CA, Director, VMWare, Windows/Citrix Profile Management, Windows Server OS, PowerShell, Active Directory, and Group Policies are key to this role. Said candidate must possess excellent communication, documentation, self-learning skills and the ability to manage assignments independently.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with the following Citrix Technologies:
  • CVAD 7.x, AppLayering (ELM), WEM, UPM, PVS, MCS, Licensing, FAS
  • StoreFront, FAS, NetScaler (ADC), including Gateway, Load Balancing, GSLB, Authentication Profiles, MFA configuration.
  • ADM, Director and Reporting
  • Experience with VMWare vCenter Server and ESXi virtualization technology
  • Experience with MS Certificate Authority (CA), Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP
  • In-depth functional knowledge of varying versions of Windows Server and Workstation OS
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Application support experience
  • Strong technical background and ability to work with pier engineers, and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to be flexible, versatile and adaptable in day-to-day activities
  • Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, orally and in writing
  • Ability to create, read, analyze and interpret applicable technical documentation & system reports
  • Ability to prioritize and escalate problems
  • Perform on-call duties and be flexible for occasion requirement to work after hours or weekends to perform tasks that cannot be done during business hours is required. In a rare case a visit to datacenter will be required.


Education, Experience & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, will consider relevant work experience in leu of education
  • 1-3+ years of previous experience in a similar role preferred
  • Able to pass a full background check
  • Previous experience and/or ability to work in a highly secured environment
  • CCA-V & CCP-V certifications are required for this position
  • NetScaler (AppDS) certifications and CCE-V are a plus.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $80,640- $120,960 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The Application Engineer I is responsible for supporting the Engineering and sale of a wide range of custom Data Center Thermal Solutions and related cooling systems. The support provided includes the development of new products, pre-sale technical support, answering product application inquiries, and quality control. This role has a strong impact on the success of the Data Center Cooling Systems business and requires an engineering background with knowledge in thermodynamic, electrical, and industrial controls principles.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Works with the production team on making product design changes to improve quality, productivity, or other operational objectives.

  • Reviews and approves production drawings / specifications, adding recommendations to enhance design, reduce costs or increase production efficiency.
  • Prepares all documentation necessary for production as well as customer support. (proposals, quotes, drawings, BOM, schematics, product selections, manuals, technical instructions, etc.).
  • Works with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features and capabilities; investigates sources of special equipment, material, or devices. Obtains quotes, prepares requisitions and qualifies supplier components.
  • Able to assist in multiple ongoing projects and meet project task deadlines as assigned by Sales, Operations, and Management.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate wiring diagrams, program logic, and electrical schematics.
  • Execute proper root cause and corrective action methodology.

**About the Role:**
Understand and manage control databases, user interfaces and setup of control systems based on project specification and/or sale proposal. Perform field startup and system commissioning tasks. Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
Create programming logic using flow diagrams, sequences of operation, understanding panel layouts, termination details and project specifications or sales proposal under supervision of a Senior or Lead Application Engineer.

  • Software and Hardware implementation and solving sophisticated technical issues

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills with a strong customer service focus.

This role covers the Level three technical support for GEV CIC Wireless and Optical portfolio globally based out of Rochester USA.

The main interface points are the L1/L2 support teams from the GEV regions worldwide (Receiving support tickets) as well as the L4 Technology team in Rochester (Submitting support tickets).

Part of this role is to maintain a platform in Rochester with the main GEV Wireless and Optical Products to facilitate the troubleshooting and the reproduction of the issues faced by L1/L2 to try and provide the solution before escalating to L4 when needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Global L3 after sales technical support for GEV Wireless and Optical portfolio.

  • Maintain a test platform in Rochester to aid in the troubleshooting process.

  • Technical coordination with internal/external clients.

  • Technical coordination with the Technology Team (L4 support) when needed to resolve the client tickets.

  • A secondary task for this role is to provide "on the Job training" for GEV operations team and provide technical support to ramp up the technical capabilities in regions where we are introducing the use of the wireless and optical portfolio (occasional international travel is required).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above.

Job Purpose

We are looking for an Application Engineer for our NA Aerospace team, supporting our Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) business. This position reports to the Manager, Application Engineering and manages the technical relationship with SKF's customers, working closely with the MRO Repair Center and MRO leadership. The role will also coordinate with Sales and Customer Service as part of the accounts responsible team. Responsibilities include assisting the MRO team in growing the bearing aftermarket business through technical engagement with customers, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and assisting with bearing functional investigations in the field and at the MRO Repair Center. Responsibilities include evaluating technical risks, verifying product quality and inspection requirements, customer specification controls, and analyzing product field service history. This engineer promotes SKF know-how and value propositions in-line with corporate strategy and is part of a global team with access to SKF's subject matter experts to aid in design, analysis and lessons learned. This engineer would also be responsible for problem solving, supporting preliminary engineering calculations, and solution determination in cases of customer complaints or application specific requests with regard to product performance and failure risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Look for and chase new business opportunities by understanding what customers need and want, spotting market trends, and introducing current and new SKF technologies relating to the aftermarket business.
  • Develop and support the MRO business through technical engagement with current and new customers.
  • Help coordinate engineering activities throughout the aftermarket business cycle.
  • Make sure to follow verification and validation procedures correctly and keep track of how our products are performing in the field.
  • Carry out bearing calculations that are relevant to reverse engineering process in the development FAA approved repairs and Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA).
  • Regularly work with the customer's engineering team to solve technical problems.
  • Work with and have an impact on a fast-moving global team of people from engineering, sales, business development, project management, design, quality, testing, manufacturing, and customer service; create and give technical presentations and training events to large groups of customers.
  • Coordinate and keep tasks aligned that involve many customers in your region or assignment and build and improve relationships with customers' engineering/technical teams with the target of implementing innovative light weight and/or low friction solutions to reach the CO2 emissions reduction of the aerospace industry.
  • Assist customers with the selection of environmentally friendly/compliant bearing solutions for their applications.

Job Requirements:

  • An Engineering degree. If it's in Mechanical, Material or Aerospace Engineering, that's even better. If you have experience in technical sales or applications engineering, that's a plus.
  • Working knowledge (advanced experience a plus) of rolling bearings, airframe bearings, aerospace materials and basic calculations related to such products and materials is highly desired.
  • A working knowledge of FAA Regulations: e.g., FAA 14 CFR Part 21 Subpart K, AC 21-43, AC 43-18, FAA Orders 8110.42, 8120.22, 8110.37, 8110.3, is a plus.
  • Be a good listener and communicator of technical knowledge (both in writing and speaking).
  • Ability to speak and write in English well.
  • You should have a good personality and be good at managing relationships with customers. This will help you motivate and influence the technical choices of our customers.
