**The role you'll contribute:** The Physical Therapy Assistant conducts physical therapy under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
**The value you'll bring to the team:**
+ Based on the findings and goals established by the Physical Therapist evaluation, the Therapist Assistant implements an individualized treatment plan of care utilizing Practice Standards and recommended techniques, insurance guidelines and patient's needs. Modifies treatment plan as appropriate based upon on-going assessments and consultation with the Physical Therapist
+ Collects patient data and communicates to the Physical Therapist regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to the standards of practice and payer guidelines
+ Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department
+ Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices and serving as a clinical instructor
+ Regularly participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community as approved by manager or director
**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**
**Minimum qualifications:**
+ Basic Life Support Certification required
+ Current Valid Physical Therapy Assistant or Temporary Physical Therapist Assistant License required
+ Experienced Ortho PTA -PREFERRED

**The role you'll contribute:**
Provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Sports Med & Rehab Department. Adheres to the Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. May supervise technical aides and volunteers. Complies with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payers as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds' results. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Modifies approach and communication skills appropriate to the patient served, which may include: Neonate/Infant (birth <1), Pediatric (1 < 12 yrs), Adolescent (12 < 18 yrs), Adult (18 < 65 yrs) and Geriatric (65 yrs)
