What you will do to contribute to the company's success

  • Directs the installation and repair of services to business customer premises to include voice, video, data and Wi-Fi services.

  • Performs skills assessments of all Installation and Repair Commercial Service Technicians and recommends training as required.
  • Analyzed and resolved work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates and directs plans to motivate workers to achieve goals, strive for maximum efficiency and go beyond what is expected.
  • Recommends or initiates personal actions, such as hiring, promoting, transferring, discharging, disciplinary measures, pay increases, etc.
  • Responsible for timely performance evaluation of employees based upon measurable objective criteria.
  • Responsible for training and development of all employees.
  • Communicates with other departments to ensure trouble and services orders are worked in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company.
  • Researches and discusses new customer facing technologies with other team members for future implementation in projects.
  • Works with internal sales team and other team members to qualify customer's needs and present an optimal solution.
  • Communicates with supervisor on status of projects, achievements, or issues relating to current tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication or like field OR, four plus years' experience in field operations.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience installing, provisioning, and maintaining Key and PBX systems
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience installing, provisioning, and maintaining DBN phones.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience installing, repairing and provisioning commercial Wi-Fi solutions (i.e. Aruba, HP, Colubris, Arris).
  • Must be able to collect, manipulate and distribute data of effective root cause analysis.
  • Ability to develop and train technician work force.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be goal and results driven.
  • Certification, prior training, and or experience working with Nortel's option 11 telephony solutions.
  • Ability to identify, trouble shoot, and resolve issues with voice circuits that integrate with key and PBX systems.
  • Working knowledge and or proficiency in trouble shooting and working with Ethernet networks, TCP/IP connections, routing protocols, Wi-Fi, VOIP Codec's and HFC networks.

Position Overview:

Field Service Engineers (FSE) provide onsite customer service and support at our customer facilities. Job responsibilities include equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance of complex lithography tools. Our FSEs work with the customer to ensure optimal performance of the Nikon equipment.

You will be responsible for…

  • Performing all routine troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on Nikon equipment including interpreting schematics, mechanical diagrams, and discerning data from diagnostic programs

  • Providing on-site service for the customer as detailed in service agreement

  • May install or relocate customer equipment and perform associated start-up and check-out procedures

  • Report and communicate technical issues and provide feedback on technical documentation

What you have…

  • Advanced understanding of Electronics and/or Mechanical Engineering, typically Associates or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or relevant other experience such as Military, automotive, equipment maintenance, etc.

Job Description:
The Field Service department is looking for a highly motivated and talented Technician to provide quality service and repair of complex MX-20/25 airborne surveillance turrets. The FSR will provide full-time technical support and interface with a dedicated strategic customer. This field support will occur directly onsite with this customer at their facility at Kirtland AFB, NM. Additionally, the FSR may also be required to deploy internationally to work assignments overseas at remote locations around the world on an "on call" basis. These overseas deployments could include hazardous conflict regions. FSR must always project a positive image of our department and company that will meet our customer's highest expectations for service and support of their L3Harris Technologies equipment.
This position requires a self-motivated, creative, forward-thinking, and energetic individual. Excellent communication, relationship building, and problem-solving skills are a must. The ability to interface well with demanding customers as well as co-workers is critical. The best MX-Series field technicians are strong team players and customer focused. FSR must work well independently and can be relied upon to make difficult decisions that will affect the performance and availability of mission critical systems.
Essential Functions:
+ The most important performance objective for this department is to Repair, Test and Maintain Wescam MX-20/25 sensor systems in accordance with pre-established processes, while adhering to customer deadlines. A successful MX Field Technician understands the gimbal system, understands how all components work together including peripheral interfaces, and able to effectively troubleshoot, repair and test a failed system.
+ Objective is to become proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of Wescam MX-20/25 systems within 90 days. Initial MX Training will include formal 2-week training course, followed by extensive on-the-job training requirements.
+ Knowledge and application of troubleshooting electronics and mechanical systems, customer service skills and being a part of a motivated and diverse team.
+ Be part of a motivated extended team that supports various U.S. Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and DOD Military customers by repairing mission critical Wescam sensor systems.
+ May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.

+ 4 years' experience troubleshooting and repairing problems related to product aircraft integration, electronics and mechanical systems, down to the line replaceable unit level and work with Quality & Manufacturing Engineering to take corrective actions.
+ 4 years prior FSR experience in both CONUS and OCONUS repair assignments and tasks, is desired . Equivalent military experience would be considered.

**Education**
University degree/Bachelor degree in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science or similar field preferred; or 2-5 years of equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
**Experience**
2-5 years' Experience:
+ Operating, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating complex analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, Prober or similar systems is a plus but not required.
+ Experience with Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) a plus but not required.
+ Experience operating O-scopes, digital voltmeter and logical problem solving.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
+ Demonstrated ability to lead/coach others/lead
+ Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical issues
+ Ability to partner effectively with customers and colleagues
+ Able to take lead on difficult customer critical issues
+ Must have a thorough understanding and extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration/building, time management, organizational, problem solving, conflict management and customer service skills
+ Proven ability to fix complex systems and subsystems down to component level
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics
+ Familiar with UHV phenomenon and technology
+ Required to read, write, and speak English fluently.
+ Ability to work under pressure, with a consistent record to make decisions with minimal direct supervision.
+ Proven ability to be detail oriented, problem solver, promote team environment.
+ Able to display a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
+ Literate in Windows software environments
+ Must be willing to travel 25-50% of the time.
+ Must possess a valid driver's license and passport and travel regionally and internationally as required.
+ May require proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
+ Extensive walking may be required.
+ May work at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in laboratory environments.
+ Must be able to secure entrance to US Government laboratories and facilities
+ Potentially pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)
+ Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and/or bump hats.
+ Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
