**Job Summary**
The UGE Operator is responsible for operating the machines required to install the underground conduit, cables, transformers, pull boxes, transformer pads, and switchgear colors for customers. This position supports the Line team and works with personnel within the department.
Responsibilities
+ Operate jobsite equipment safely, such mobile cranes, bulldozers, angle dozers, front end loaders, backhoes, excavators, track hoe, trenchers, digger-derricks, or other construction equipment.
+ Perform service, safety checks, and minor repairs on machines, check oil and fluids.
+ Inspect work area to ensure it has been staked/located prior to digging.
+ Work with maintenance crew or assist as laborer when not operating equipment.
+ Dig around all live utilities, both underground and overhead.
+ Train, guide, or oversee work of lower graded operators and laborers when needed
+ Comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to MasTec or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
+ Load trucks in a safe and accident-free manner.
+ Work to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service with quality timeliness.
+ Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
**Minimum**
+ High school diploma, or equivalent.
+ 1 year of relevant experience.
+ Valid driver's license.
**Preferred**
+ 2 or more years of experience.
+ OSHA 10 Certification.
+ **CDL Class A driver's license.**

+ Train, guide, or oversee work of lower graded operators and laborers, when needed.
+ Comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to MasTec or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
+ Load trucks in safe and accident free manner.
+ Actively improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service with quality timeliness.
+ Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

**Equipment Operator**
This position operates heavy equipment of various types to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**
+ Plans, assigns, directs, checks, and coordinates work.
+ Operates and services equipment such as gasoline, hydraulic tools, power saws, power winches, mower deck, weed whacker, chipper, and sprayers.
+ Cleans up and disposes of all debris.
+ Uses hand-tools, such as axes, hand-lines, saws, block and tackle, pruners and other equipment as required.
+ Sprays brush and stumps, making proper and selective application of herbicides.
+ Responsible for quality and quantity of production.
+ Performs all aspects of labor as necessary to keep crew operation flowing.
+ Ensures the overall safety, quality and production requirements of the crew are met.
+ Obtains written or oral permission from property owners to trim or remove trees or perform other work on property.
+ Arranges with customer or property owner to obtain access, advises of interruption, explains work to be done, etc.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Possesses working knowledge and be able to identify tree and shrub species.

**Education & Experience**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

The Equipment Operator who will maintain grounds of golf courses by performing some or all of the following duties.
You'd be responsible for:
+ Mowing turf areas using various sized power mowers
+ Operating a towed behind gas powered blower
+ Picking up leaves, trash, and cut grass and placing onto a truck or trailer
+ Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
+ Regular exposure to outside environment including rain, cold, sun, or night
