The Mechanical Products Team (MPT), Shipboard Effectors Department is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for our Louisville KY site in both development and production support across multiple programs. This position is in Louisville, KY (on-site) This Principal Mechanical Engineering position performs in alignment to expectations in the design, development and production support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation principals, qualification processes, procurement, and production processes across a design life cycle. Development work may include requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs, margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals, engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis reports, and presentations in design reviews. What You Will Do Preparation of technical documents and presenting in design reviews. Be seen as a Subject Matter Expert for Mechanical Design issues providing mentorship, development and review of lower-level Engineer’s work. Strong collaboration and communication skills in working with the Chief Engineer, team leaders, and peers. Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including design, manufacture, integration and test and design solutions for multiple systems. Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product. Coordinate with other disciplines in the development of design verification test plans, qualification test plans, and producible designed Occasional travel to suppliers may be required to resolve production issues, technical performance issues or attend critical program engineering reviews. You will be leading internal & external cross-functional teams, leading installation and commissioning efforts at the project level (up to four campuses simultaneously), overseeing quality, and quickly adapting in an evolving space.Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates, and our services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, and capital conservation.
**Required Skills:**
Regional Quality Manager - Data Center Design Engineering & Construction Responsibilities:
1. Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results
2. Contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts
3. Work with a large team
4. Help identify long-term ambitious research goals as well as intermediate milestones
5. Prioritize research that can be applied to Meta's product development

7. 10+ years of experience in quality control & quality assurance (QA/QC) and/or Commissioning (Cx) programs for data centers or mission critical construction projects
8. BS in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent work experience
9. Experience with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction programs
10. Experience in civil/structural, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation and Control (I&C) disciplines
11. Experience leading QA/QC and Cx programs
12. Experience in contractor, consultant, and vendor management
13. Experience in mission critical power and cooling infrastructure or other critical systems
14. Experience adapting to a hands-on, start-up work environment
15. Travel domestically as need (anticipated 40-60%)
