Job Description

The Field Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the construction of projects to ensure completion within approved budgets and schedules, regulatory, environmental, and health and safety requirements. The Field Coordinator ensures clear and effective communication and coordination between owners, field personnel, design team, maintenance and outside contractors. This position will work closely with the owner as an extension of the facilities department to manage the installation of sorting systems materials, equipment and control systems. In this role, you may be required to travel up to 30% of the time.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Study and understand drawings and specs, review and understand existing industrial / commercial system configurations, develop work schedule for installation of new industrial systems outside of ongoing operating hours, field oversight to multiple industrial systems contractors, quality assurance of work being put in place, oversee equipment and system testing and commission.
+ Participate in Closeout Meeting between Architect/Engineer and Contractor.
+ Develops and manages various aspects of contract documents including plans, submittals, change orders, as-built, etc.
+ Work with the Project Manager to maintain business plans.
+ Maintain and track all field related action items such as; minutes of contractor safety meetings, contractors' superintendent's daily reports, weather log, punch list activities and verify completion.
+ Utilize software management tools to maintain all project documentation.
+ Coordinate and participate in QC building envelope drawing review.
+ Review and assist contractor with QA/QC manual to ensure compliance with general conditions of contract documents.
+ Maintain coordination between all separate contractors onsite so work on those contracts may be carried out smoothly, without interference or delay.
+ Maintain good relationships with owner/architect/engineer in the regular course of project construction (through communication, resolving project issues, information sharing, etc.).
+ Maintain Observation Report logs, Daily Reports, and Progress Photos. Assist project team in reviewing contractor pay applications for percentage complete and material invoices for verification of fixed items vs. expendables.
+ Attend Pre-Construction conference addressing site related issue/concerns to contractor.
+ Coordinate punch list work so as not to interfere with usage of the building or project.
+ Assist in review of A/E drawings & specifications for constructability, logistics, and quality issues.
+ Assist A/E and project team in defining limits of project, pedestrian safety plan, way finding signage, and construction lay down sites.
+ Assist project team in developing individual trade scopes of work.
+ Coordinate with Project Manager, Preconstruction Manager(s) and SPMs to make sure constructability review is produced and incorporated into the contract documents.
+ Coordinate with Project Manager to establish construction milestones to be incorporated into the preconstruction schedule.
+ Review Closeout Checklist with Project Manager for items needed from Contractor.
+ Assist the project manager in the compilation of the close out documents as required by contract documents.
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred
+ Heavy civil, sitework, or bridge experience preferred
+ 8+ years of experience with on site management in new construction and large renovation projects required
+ Proficient in MS Office Suite and document management tools such as ProCore; scheduling software such as Suretrak/P6 or MS Project
+ Valid Driver's License required

The KSRE Project Management Office (KSRE PMO) is a specialized department responsible for the centralized, coordinated management of projects and activities conducted by various departments within KSRE. What You Need

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Architecture, Business or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience
•Three+ years of related experience, two+ years project related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required.
•One to two years supervisory experience preferred.
•Three+ years direct client interaction in designated market and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications/Registrations
•Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession.
•Must complete Waggoner's project manager qualification card and certification within a year of employment. For new hires being brought into a PM position, the PM will be given Provisional status with up to one year to complete certification. Once certification is completed, status will be changed from Provisional to Qualified.
•Professional registration/certification desired.

Other Knowledge and Skills
•Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
•Knowledge of design, on-line reports and databases preferred.
•Knowledge and ability to use Deltek Financial and Project Management systems.

**Job Description:**
At Regions, the Project Manager independently manages projects of medium scale that are significant in scope. Ensures projects remain on time/within budget, certifies project goals and success markers are met. This position collaborates with project teams, functional owners, and project sponsors supporting and executing the full project life cycle to achieve specific business outcomes.

The KSRE Project Management Office (KSRE PMO) is a specialized department responsible for the centralized, coordinated management of projects and activities conducted by various departments within KSRE. The PMO supports the division's business strategy by handling management duties, including scheduling, reporting and budget monitoring, as well as coordination, communication, resource management, and process improvement. This position work directly with the technical leadership to facilitate their ability to maximize their research and testing effectiveness while providing transparency to the technical team and client at ever project stage. The PM will report to the Program Management Manager and require limited supervision of their day-to-day tasks. This position is on-site and is not remote or hybrid eligible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely, communicate, and meet with Technical Project Leaders and/or Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from project setup to project closure; facilitate regular discussions about project status, issues that may have an impact on the schedule, and financial matters.
  • Ability and willingness to build knowledge and awareness of various KSRE specific disciplines to better anticipate project challenges and opportunities and to integrate with Technical Leaders.
  • Possess a complete understanding of contractual and financial commitments related to assigned projects; be knowledgeable about project scope, deliverable dates, billing, milestones, invoicing, and terms.

  • Identify and document areas for process improvement within the department.
Position Specific Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of various government and commercial funding pathways and task contract vehicles.
  • Assist and lead proposal preparation with technical team including requirements review and analysis, technical writing, man-power estimates, material estimates and final document review.
  • Assist with project scheduling and prioritizing projects; adept at using Microsoft Project to create Gantt charts, as well as demonstrate expertise with other scheduling tools and methods.
  • Adept at Microsoft Excel and demonstrate ability to create detailed cost estimating and financial models without the assistance of outside tools and software.
  • Alert management of project overruns, missed deadlines, and any challenges that could have an impact on timelines and deliverable quality.
  • Ensure that forecasting, revenue, milestone payments, and invoicing are completed in a timely manner for processing.
  • Responsible for management all aspects of project performance (technical oversite, contractual, administrative and financial) for all phases of program including: design, development, manufacture, assembly, test and operation.
  • Provides high-level technical and financial reports in order to show progress to corporate management and customers.
  • Works as primary point of contact to customers and stakeholders to ensure system will meet or exceed all expectations.
  • Monitor current and future technology trends and capabilities to identify how new technology can be integrated to better support project goals.
  • Possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers in government areas.
  • Prepare detailed reports for internal and external customers. Manage contract modifications and task orders.
  • Analyze and review governmental budgeting processes of governmental agencies/entities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and other management teams.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance at a level equivalent to Department of Defense (DOD) SECRET
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or scientific field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management including contracting/proposal/negotiation experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or coursework
