A role with Business Partnerships & Negotiations (BP&N) means supporting Merchandising in developing the best possible deals for Target through strategic partnerships and vendor negotiations. Here, you'll work with buyers on contract terms and vendor organizations to set strategies that get the maximum value for Target. Use your analytics expertise and strategic thinking to position Target and its vendors for the most productive and successful partnerships. Use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals.
As a Lead Business Partner BP&N, you will develop negotiation strategies and partnerships which support Target's business initiatives and align with the integrity of the Target brand. You will Identify, analyze and evaluate vendor profitability in regards to cost negotiation, leveraging, compliance, vendor income and supply chain impact. This individual proactively identifies departments that are under leveraged in comparison to similar businesses, demonstrates strong understanding of Merchandising buying practices and negotiation techniques, and works and communicates well with all levels of management while building strong partnerships. You will benchmark vendor profitability practices from internal resources, top retail companies and other external companies determined to be appropriate. You will facilitate competitive line reviews with Merchants to achieve best value position.

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of merchandising (buying or planning), with significant national brand vendor negotiation experience
• Superior negotiation skills

• Strong financial background, 2+ years of experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.

Compensation overview
The full hiring range for this role is $20.30 - $6.84 hourly. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. The person in this position is responsible for securing work opportunities for the people we support in our programs. This person will work with the business community as well as MSS leadership to identify and coordinate opportunities for supported employment teams and individual employment.

- Focusing on the areas identified by people in the programs, develop opportunities for MSS with current, new, and past customers for community work sites
- Actively work with prospective customers to identify all components of potential contracts, including all aspects of quality and safety related requirements
- Work with the employment services team to identify individual job interest and skills, desired geographic locations, and other pertinent information for job identification. Identify employers that have corresponding job opportunities to help facilitate placement
- Work cooperatively with the MSS Operations Team to develop community partnerships for the Community Hub, community engagement, and grant/fundraising opportunities
- Manage the eTrac program including collaborating with external consultants. Responsible for presentation of eTrac to funders and other interested parties, along with sales to external organizations
- Work cooperatively with program staff and customers to ensure that work is done to the customer's satisfaction. Promote communication between the customer and program staff, and assist with resolving any issues or concerns
- Act as a liaison with other agencies and organizations to promote the interests of MSS. Speak on behalf of MSS at public functions. Attend trade shows, community fairs, job fairs, etc. as requested
Requirements
Must have strong interpersonal and project management skills. Must have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success in professional sales. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated competency in public speaking. Must relate well to people with disabilities. Must be proficient with technology including Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). Must be comfortable completing data entry tasks in a timely fashion.
Must be in Minnesota to attend in-person meetings, speak at public functions, attend trade shows, community fairs, etc.
Must pass a Department of Human Services Background check and other background checks as required by MSS. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable as determined by our insurance carrier.
- Benefits include company sponsored health, dental, life and disability insurance, paid holidays and PTO and a 401K plan with company match. Starting pay for this position is $55,000 Annually. Pay rate will be determined based on relevant skills and experience.

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will be responsible for generating and qualifying pipeline through both inbound and outbound prospecting. BDRs manage the lead experience from first touch through to the completion of a discovery call. You are the first human connection a prospect has with our brand and are expected to deeply qualify leads based on role, goal, and business context before handing them over to the sales team.
**Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Lead Qualification & Discovery:
+ Engage inbound leads from marketing or generate new leads via outbound prospecting.
+ Qualify prospects based on their role (decision-maker/influencer) and goal (key business initiative or pain point).
+ Conduct high-quality discovery to understand buying triggers, urgency, and fit.
+ Ensure each call sets up sales for success with context-rich insights.
+ Meeting Management & Call Ownership:
+ Schedule, confirm, and ensure completion of discovery meetings with prospects.
+ You own the lead until the call is completed-no handoff happens beforehand.
+ Assess the quality of the call outcome: positive (qualified), neutral (needs nurturing), or negative (disqualified).
+ Handoff & Attribution:
+ Only submit leads for sales acceptance once a discovery call is completed and qualification criteria (role, goal, and fit) are met.
+ Maintain meticulous notes and lead data in the CRM.
+ Receive credit only for sales-accepted leads that are passed post-call.
+ Collaboration:Partner with Sales to continuously align on qualification standards and feedback loops

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business.
