Job Description
Our client is a Transportation consulting firm specializing in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and parking consulting. They work on projects to improve traffic flow, enhance transportation systems, and develop parking solutions for various clients, including government agencies, private developers, and businesses. They are urgently hiring for a Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planner to join the team in Tysons, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering.

Responsibilities
+ Conduct traffic impact studies and transportation planning analyses.
+ Develop and implement traffic management plans.
+ Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to identify transportation needs and solutions.
+ Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals.
+ Utilize transportation modeling software to analyze traffic patterns and forecast future conditions.
+ Participate in public meetings and presentations to communicate project findings and recommendations.
+ Perform engineering/planning tasks under supervision.
+ Assist with preparation of technical reports.
+ Travel to and from job sites, other offices, and meetings as required.
Essential Skills
+ 1-3+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning.
+ Knowledge of traffic analysis software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM preferred).
+ Knowledge of CADD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Understanding of the theory and practice of transportation engineering principles.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, public review agency personnel, and clients.
+ Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
+ Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)/EIT or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certificate is a plus.
+ Experience and/or knowledge of SYNCHRO.
+ Ability to assist with report preparation.

We are seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with experience in Land Development for commercial and private sector projects. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, particularly LDD. This position will support the Navy Program Manager responsible for Strategic Systems Planning (SSP) Facilities Acquisition at TRIDENT Submarine Bases Kings Bay Georgia and Bangor Washington.

About the program
Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Program (SSP) continually since the program s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and as the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a truly unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of a civil engineer involve a wide range of tasks related to the design, analysis, and evaluation of facilities. Here is an overview of the key responsibilities:
+ Review engineering design and documents and confirming specifications developed by others.
+ Support construction projects by studying and developing project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
+ Support development of Military Construction project development by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
+ Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
+ Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.
+ Review and comment on engineering documents prepared by others to include construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
+ Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
+ Maintains project database by imputing data into computer programs (entering data) and completing backups.
+ Contributes to team effort to accomplish tasks as needed.
+ Building Codes and Regulations: Candidate is responsible for staying updated on building codes, regulations, and standards relevant to civil design. They must ensure that their designs comply with local, national, and international codes and regulations governing civil safety, accessibility, fire protection, and other applicable requirements.
+ Collaboration and Coordination: Candidate is responsible for collaboration with architects, other engineers, and construction professionals to verify integrated civil design are provided for the projects. They will coordinate with other engineering disciplines, such as structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to ensure compatibility and coordination between different systems within the project.
+ The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development of comprehensive Military Construction (MILCON) documentation and construction cost estimates. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide technical peer reviews of design submittals, will develop Facilities Evaluation Testing Criteria, and will perform construction monitoring and conduct/prepare engineering reports and will make recommendations to solve Facilities issues.

Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you'll lead diverse multi-discipline design projects, working on both public & private site development projects! You'll also collaborate with Municipal clients across different markets, gaining invaluable experience while also making a real impact!
In this role, you'll tackle a variety of exciting tasks based your technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Your work will include designing and planning developments that include critical infrastructure components (i.e.: Stormwater Management (SWM), drainage, erosion control, etc.). You'll also handle land development applications, code reviews, and feasibility studies across diverse markets. This is a chance to dive into various projects and make a real impact!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee schedules & budgets for various projects to ensure completion in an efficient and effective manner.
- Engage with clients & regulatory agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Prepare proposals for new & existing clients (including estimation of project fees).
- Oversee the development of Land Development Plans; this includes the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specification, and engineering reports (from schematic design through construction).
- Coordinate permits and land development applications for review & approval from regulatory agencies for various projects.
- Assign tasks to Junior Engineers & Drafters; this includes providing mentorship & guidance in developing SWM strategies, Utility Coordination, and Erosion & Sediment Control (E&SC) Design.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
- 7+ years of professional experience working in Engineering (preferably with Land Development design projects).
- Professional Engineer license in VA (we will consider candidates who are able to successfully obtain their PE within 6 months of their start date).
- Project Management experience; proven ability to manage multi-discipline projects is preferred.
- Experience working on brownfield (land redevelopment) as well as greenfield projects.
- Advanced proficiency with site design functions: site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, municipal & land-use regulatory approvals, etc.
- Experience with designing SWM plans; proficiency with Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools (e.g.: HydroCAD, Hydraflow, etc.) is preferred.
- Proficiency with engineering / CADD tools (e.g.: AutoCAD Civil 3D, etc.).
- Proficiency with standard office & project management software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), etc.
- Proven ability to demonstrate strategic thinking skills, especially with understanding overarching project goals while integrating various design disciplines effectively.
