**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking an **Entry-Level Environmental Scientist** to join our **New York, NY** office to assist with environment, air and noise studies and sampling and environmental permitting.
The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients.
This is an office-based role comprising approximately 70% office work and 30% field work. The candidate will join a large established team conducting air, noise, and vibration studies and analyses. This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a range of projects, and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and can work both independently and as a part of a project team. Note this role will require some travel outside of the New York Metropolitan area to support projects as needed across the United States.
**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**
+ Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
+ Collects and enters data; applies technical principles and theories.
+ Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Participates in site visits and coordinating and assisting field staff as required.
+ Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
+ Develop knowledge of job-specific federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned job specifications.
+ Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of an experienced scientist/engineer.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Science, Applied Mathematics or Physics.
+ Valid US Driver's License.
+ Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
+ Experience with collecting air, noise, and/or vibration data.
+ Knowledge of New York City Infrastructure and Transit Systems.
+ GIS capabilities.
**Additional Information**
+ The position will require both field and office work.
+ Travel is a requirement of this role.
+ Relocation is not available for this position.
+ Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $58,000.00 - $7,000.00.

REQUIREMENTS: BS in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related degree; MS and/or PE preferred. Or equivalent experience. 3-4+ years required, 3 years preferred of direct consulting or industry experience involving Title V permitting; PSD, NSR, BACT, and/or MACT experience a plus. Demonstrated understanding of air emissions and emission reporting processes. Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Quality Monitoring Coordinator plans, coordinates and schedules the collection and analysis of research data samples to ensure all federal and state compliance monitoring requirements are met or exceeded.
**Qualifications**

+ Ensures compliance with good clinical practice and regulatory guidelines.
+ Completes and coordinates monitoring responsibilities in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, standards and protocols.
+ Responsible for a comparison review of collected data and scans of original clinical consent documents that are sent to the Data Center to identify, document and correct errors per the Standard Operating Procedures.
+ Responsible for logging of the consent documents sent by the WTC Health Program Clinical Centers of Excellence to the Data Center.
+ Assures all logged activities and completed work is properly maintained.
+ Assures WTCHP members are registered in the data system in a timely manner.
+ Reviews and processes transfer reports sent by the Health Program Support Contractor.
+ Prepares monthly reports to be distributed to the Clinical Centers of Excellence.
+ Participates in TrialDB (data capture system) training conference calls under the supervision of the Administrative Manager/QA Supervisor.
+ Provides support to Data Management and functions as a front-line beta tester for all data collection forms and changes to the forms.

Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**

+ Highly proficient expertise with environmental science skills for a specific ecosystem(s), habitat(s), and/or applicable species.
