**Job Duties**
+ Use a lift truck to move material and completed parts to their proper location according to a production traveler.
+ Conduct daily pre-operational safety check on lift truck.
+ Comply with safety regulations.
+ Place and remove loads from the parts train, floor, and rack locations.
+ Adjust loads by hand as required for safe handling.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Read, write, basic math (including fractions and decimals), remember, reason, analyze, organizational skills, and basic computer skills.
+ Per 8-12 hr. shift (stand up to 4 hrs., walk up to 5 hrs., sit up to 3 hrs.), frequently (balance, push/pull, bend, kneel, squat) and occasionally (reach above shoulder level). Frequent lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 49 lbs., occasionally from 50 to 100 lbs. with the help of another person or lifting device). Frequent climbing to step into lift truck. Must be able to see, hear, have good binocular vision, distinguish colors, use feet to operate foot pedals, do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment that includes exposure to vibration from lift trucks, inside/outside temperature changes, occasional weld flash, dust, battery acid, paint, and oil. Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Prior experience operating a lift truck preferred.
Earn an additional $1.50/hour for working 2nd or 3rd shift (4/10 work schedule), or an additional $5.00/hour for working weekend shift (3/12 work schedule).

DescriptionThe Material Handler is Responsible for moving, storing, and managing various materials for transformers. They play a key role in the supply chain and logistics, ensuring that products are available to the team when needed and that shipments are on time and meet quality standards. This position is in the Parts Department.Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution. Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies. Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.
