This Business Intelligence Engineer II position requires the ability to work independently, gather and analyze requirements from business partners and deliver high-quality Business Intelligence solutions.
**Key Responsibilities** :
+ Develop, Implement, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using multiple database sources
+ Gather and analyze business requirements from various stakeholders to design effective solutions
+ Optimize and maintain SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency
+ Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and other business intelligence tools
+ Document processes, technical designs, and report configurations

**Required Qualifications**
+ Must be willing and able to work schedule aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours
+ Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL programming, including query optimization and data manipulation
+ Minimum 2 years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards
+ Minimum 1 year of experience with Power Apps and/or Power Automate
+ Proven experience working with both Medicaid and Medicare data sets
+ Demonstrated ability to leverage reporting solutions to address complex business and data challenges
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
**Work-At-Home Requirements**
+ At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
+ Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided with a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
+ Experience working with Databricks for big data processing and analytics
+ Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics and its data modeling capabilities
+ Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar project management and collaboration tools
+ Demonstrated ability to integrate and analyze data from multiple sources

**About the Role:**
Help accelerate the modernization and optimization of our Business Intelligence ecosystem-guiding migrations, integrations, and best-practice adoption across Tableau Cloud, Microsoft Fabric/Power BI, Confluence Cloud, Snowflake, Oracle Exadata (OCI), Salesforce, and Azure DevOps-while preparing the business for practical, value-adding AI and ML capabilities.
**What You'll Do**
+ Own and drive agreed-upon Objectives/Initiatives from concept through measurable value delivery.
+ Coordinate matrixed squads of BI engineers, data analysts, and business SMEs-guiding backlog, unblockers, and communication (no direct reports).
+ Facilitate Agile/Kanplan ceremonies and maintain visibility of work-in-progress.
+ Lead proofs-of-concept on emerging AI/ML or agentic BI capabilities, balancing innovation with sound governance ("no shadow IT").
+ Craft concise, data-driven narratives for VP/SVP reviews and occasional C-suite briefings.
+ Champion data governance, documentation, and user enablement across the BI landscape.
**Do You Have**
+ **8+ years** leading BI platform evolution, analytics system design, or large-scale BI program delivery.
+ Demonstrated success migrating or modernizing at least one major BI or collaboration platform (e.g., Tableau ? Cloud, Jira ? Azure DevOps).
+ Expert SQL plus hands-on fluency with Tableau, Power BI/Fabric, Snowflake or Oracle, and Agile toolchains (Azure DevOps, Jira).
+ Comfort experimenting with Azure OpenAI/Copilot or similar GenAI services and translating outcomes for business stakeholders.

A Medicaid Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Medicaid Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, develop, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Supports development of data and creation of processes, reporting, and visualizations for all Humana Healthy Horizons Medicaid Risk Adjustment, prospective programs, and interoperability. Takes initiative to create innovative solutions to complex business problems. Manages Big Data and data quality in databricks.
Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates the functions and activities related to financial outcomes improvement, cost management and enterprise business and operational analytics while providing high quality, responsive customer service.
- Collaborates with clinical/physician leaders on quality improvement initiatives to assess financial outcomes.
- Identifies financial performance improvement opportunities and collaborates with clinical/physician leadership toward exploration/implementation of initiatives.
- Provides leadership and technical support to department staff in business and operational analytics to include: performing analysis, design, coding, testing and installation of user interactive data storage and retrieval systems utilizing QHS' enterprise data warehouse.
- Serves as key enterprise resource for business/operational analytics. Identifies report objectives, analyzes related data and workflows, then designs, develops, and validates analytical reports for the enterprise. Analytics should include key performance indicators, visualization and trending to integrate data across functions and applications such as ERP, KRONOS, CARE*Link, Health Catalyst and enterprise data warehouse applications.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Computer Science, Accounting or related field; or five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, information technology, health care or related field may be substituted for the degree.
- Master's degree preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years database management experience as educator, programmer or analyst; or, three (3) years as an end-user with a major emphasis in data management systems.
- Experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Experience to demonstrate:
o Knowledge of relational databases and ability to extract data into reports, i.e., SQL, Crystal Report Writer.
o Ability to link data to workflows to produce relevant analytics
o Advanced skills in developing/maintenance of spreadsheets.
