ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

  • Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
  • Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency and improvement
  • Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact. Follow body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way, which include asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
  • Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
  • Be knowledgeable of GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed and priced for guests
  • Acknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruption; partner with leadership to prioritize daily workload based on business and guest needs
  • Ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categories and be knowledgeable of products in the ad
  • Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom and signing processes for GM areas
  • Execute processes including pricing, presentation sets, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas
  • Understand how operational procedures, like planogram (POG) ties, product capacities and salesfloor quantities impact shortage, profitability, in store replenishment and inventory accuracy
  • Operate power equipment only if certified
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties, such as federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
  • All other duties based on business needs

    Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician position is responsible for ensuring the quality of manufactured goods from delivery to final product by continually assessing processes and recommending improvements. Additionally, this position assists in the analysis, documentation, and reporting of product information as well as assisting in analysis of necessary changes or repairs to products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Conduct product testing specified by departments to ensure appropriate levels of quality is met and consistency between product is maintained. * Assist and monitor outgoing LTL and FTL shipments: partner with warehouse as necessary. * Identify and report product defects and potential issues and help to determine resolution of issues. * Record and report issues to appropriate personal to ensure quality of product being distributed is accurate. * Assist in process improvements and growth. * Assist in any necessary repairs of product to ensure highest quality is met. * Inspect finished product to specifications on blueprints located on an iPad and job order request forms. * Inspect finished goods in chemical production to ensure product meets standards for shipment * Conduct inspections and analysis on product performance and update MRB. * Analyze, chart, and capture appropriate data and information for reporting and documentation purposes. * Create reports and analysis for continued development and growth of department goals. * Inspect incoming material as needed. * Monitor, inspect and verify that work processes are being followed as specified. * Train and teach team members the Satellite expectations for quality and customer expectations. * Communicate and trouble shoot with team members regarding quality. * Be willing to accept projects as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Education and Experience Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment. * Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness and quality system awareness. * Must have a good to intermediate skill level with Microsoft Suite products and the ability to rapidly learn an operating software system. * Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills are required. Required Skills: * Ability to read blueprints and specifications * Sufficient knowledge in the use of rulers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, colors samples, and textures samples. * Demonstrated ability to operate electronic inspection equipment and software. * Ability to record and track data * Good Communication skills and attention to detail * Strong and steady work history. * Exceptional attendance record * Positive attitude and exceptional teamwork skills Physical/Mental Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     The **Branch Quality Control Analyst** is responsible for performing independent, quality control reviews of retail branch locations to identify operational and compliance risk within the retail branch. This associate works closely with the Compliance and Oversight Program Manager and reports to the Director of Compliance & Oversight for Consumer Banking.
    The Compliance & Oversight team is comprised of a group of associates that are very hard working and are passionate about protecting the bank while providing support to our branches. At UMB, we want to be everything to our clients and the Compliance and Oversight Specialist team does just that by ensuring UMB's consumer operations function seamlessly and in a way that protects our client's financial needs.
    **_How you'll spend your time:_**
    + Ensuring each review includes, at a minimum: an assessment of branch documentation, certification of cash on hand at the branch, observation of associate behavior and interviews with branch associates to assess the associate's understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
    + Issuing a summary memorandum of each retail branch quality control review performed, including an overall risk rating articulating the level of risk observed in the branch review.
    + Maintaining an ongoing risk rating guide accurately depicting the amount of risk within each retail branch.
    + Assisting in operations related projects, as needed.
    + Cultivate working partnerships with the Consumer Operations teammates and the Consumer Delivery Team.
    + Collaborate with partners and support Consumer Banking to respond to requests from and timely resolve issues identified by regulatory bodies, internal audits or compliance engagements, or self-assessments.
    + Evaluate operational documentation for monthly operational reporting of branch performance.
    + Act as a supportive resource regarding Consumer Banking operations matters.
    + Support Director of Compliance & Oversight in the aggregation and communication of Compliance & Oversight activities including data aggregation, analysis, and reporting.

Develop site quality plans, manpower estimates, and budget estimates during the proposal stage of a project; integrate inspection activities into project schedules, develop the project execution quality plans, develop staffing plans and assign personnel to projects, and prepare Construction Inspection and Test Plans, and monitor project metrics and staffing needs, and provide code and technical support. Responsible for development and implementation of field quality training programs, as may be appropriate. Management of firm-specific Site QC Managers (e.g.: BVI, BVCI, OCI) and on BVCOR project sites. Interfaces with BV Operations Managers, regional office professionals and project teams within assigned geographical areas/lines of business.

    + Develops and implements quality programs to meet or exceed company and division quality goals, expectations and strategic plans .
    + Develops division and project specific quality programs and processes .

    + Conducts division quality performance evaluations, site quality inspections and audits .
    + Interfaces with clients, government officials, key division and corporate management .
    + Acts as Quality Consultant for internal and external clients .
