A Brief Summary of This Position:
Valmont Industries is currently seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Maintenance Technician / Electrician to join our Coatings Site team in Steele, Alabama. This hands-on role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems-including welders, overhead cranes, hoists, AC/DC motors, and other critical production equipment.
Essential Functions:
+ Perform preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance across a range of equipment and systems.
+ Perform industrial maintenance using tools, and equipment of several trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, electronics, welding, etc.
+ Conduct daily, weekly and monthly PM inspections throughout the plant to ensure all equipment is operating properly
+ Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems (480V, 3-phase, AC/DC, control voltage).
+ Install and configure new equipment as well as dismantle and replace defective or old parts and machines.
+ Install or repair equipment such as generators, transformers, motors, circuit breakers, conduit systems and controllers.
+ Locate and diagnose faults using blueprints, schematics, or testing instruments.
+ Maintain overhead cranes, forklifts and hoists including replacement of bearings, seals, and motors.
+ Use PLC logic for troubleshooting and repair.
+ Adjust machinery and systems to optimize safe, efficient operation.
