About The Position

Jackson is in need of highly-skilled Registered Nurses with experience caring for patients requiring surgical procedures for a 13 week contract assignment at a state-of-the-art area hospital.

+ Possession of Iowa Registered Nurse license within 1 year of hire.
+ Operating Room experience preferred.
+ Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
+ Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
+ Ability to read, write and speak English language.

As an Operating Room Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective and culturally competent perioperative, post anesthesia recovery care, and care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders and pulmonary conditions. Key accountabilities include:
+ Assessment and diagnosis
+ Outcomes identification
+ Planning, implementation and evaluation of care using critical thinking and evidenced-based practice
+ Adherence to the Professional Practice Standards as defined by ANA
+ Active participation in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities
+ During procedures the nurse will function in one of three roles: circulating, scrub, or patient monitoring nurse for sedation cases. During the post operative phase, the nurse will function with distinct competencies for the post anesthesia or recovery phase.
**Schedule:**

+ Day shift: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
