The Water Services Group (WSG) is adding a Regional Team Leader in our North Central Region. The office base for this position is Detroit, Michigan. Included in this geography region is Cleveland, OH.

The Regional Team Leader is responsible for supervising a team of employees and provides mentoring, training, and leadership to inspire the team to achieve their optimal performance.

Essential Job Functions:

-Recruit, interview, and hire new employees (as approved with the TDM) to support project workload and overall firm growth
-Delivering a legendary client experience with attention to quality
-Instill a sense of personal ownership for work product quality by each member of your team
-Coordinate workload within your Technical Services group and utilization goals for the individuals on your team
-Responsible for the actual profit margin delivered for the team
-Coordinate with your TDM for appropriate technical staff assignments
-Deliver appropriate sales support, as coordinated with the TDM
-Operational tasks that support our goal to remain private
-Approve time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner
-Ensure your team members complete all required training (Compliance, Health & Safety, Ethics, etc.) on time
-Ensure your team members are compliant with QA/QC and Health & Safety procedures for project delivery

Minimum Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.

-Professional engineering (PE) license.

-10 years of related experience.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Delineating and characterizing wetlands and other water resources;
  • Conducting botanical surveys, natural community mapping, wildlife surveys and habitat assessments, stream and wetland functional assessments, and mitigation monitoring;

+ Baseline knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations including RCRA, SARA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, TSCA, OSHA and MI OSHA standards.
+ Experience with evaluating EHS regulatory compliance in industrial settings either solo or part of an audit team.
+ Valid US driver's license.
+ Participation in an OSHA-mandated medical surveillance program will be required, and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work in the field.
+ Applicants must be able to work in conditions typical of industrial facilities.
+ Self-sufficient, self-motivated and ability to work under pressure of deadlines is essential.
+ Interest and proficiency in investigative work, with high attention to detail is critical to this position.
+ Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
+ Travel up to 50% of the time. Must be willing to make trips on short notice, including to local sites, and travel via air or land. Overnight travel is often required.

+ 7+ years of post-education experience conducting EHS compliance audits and compliance assistance to clients.
+ Baseline knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations including RCRA, SARA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, TSCA, OSHA and MI OSHA standards.
+ Experience with evaluating EHS regulatory compliance in industrial settings either solo or part of an audit team.
+ Valid US driver's license.
+ Participation in an OSHA-mandated medical surveillance program will be required, and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work in the field.
+ Applicants must be able to work in conditions typical of industrial facilities.
+ Self-sufficient, self-motivated and ability to work under pressure of deadlines is essential.
+ Interest and proficiency in investigative work, with high attention to detail is critical to this position.
+ Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
+ Travel up to 50% of the time. Must be willing to make trips on short notice, including to local sites, and travel via air or land. Overnight travel is often required.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification, which would also require being able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
