**JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:**
Under close and directive supervision, perform any work required for construction, installation, maintenance, and testing of all types of equipment used in the communication, control, and protection of electrical transmission and distribution lines, substations, and generating station equipment.
**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, altering, removing, or replacing equipment or devices used in the protection, operation, or maintenance of circuit breakers, voltage regulators, transformers, generators, associated communication facilities, and other related equipment.
+ i.e. Relay calibration, relay functional checks, AC testing, CT testing, and RTU (SCADA) programming.
+ Checking new and existing installations of relay and control equipment in substations to verify correctness of operation.
+ Constructing relay panels and control switchboards, including cutting, mounting, wiring, and painting, as required for a new job or for modifications to existing equipment.
+ Planning and performing switching operations associated with the maintenance of substation equipment.
+ Actively participate in monthly safety meetings and yearly training activities.
+ Be able to operate a van or light truck in a safe manner.
+ Perform other related physical or less skilled work as directed.
+ Performing assigned duties under established methods and procedures as directed and carrying out work assignments under observation or checking from time to time by a Supervisor, an Engineer or another qualified Relay personnel.
+ Be available for after-hours callout and able to travel to other service territories for support when needed.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
**Minimum Education:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience.
+ **Preferred** : 2-year technical degree in Electrical or Computer Technology.
**Minimum Experience:**
Relay Tech I:
+ 0 - 2 years of experience without Associates Degree.
+ 0 - 1 years of experience with Associates Degree.
Relay Tech II:
+ at least 2 - 4 years of experience without Associates Degree.
+ at least 1 - 3 years of experience with Associates Degree.
Relay Tech III:
+ at least 4 years of experience without Associates Degree.
+ at least 3 years of experience with Associates Degree.
Relay Tech Sr:
+ at least 6 years of electrical/electronics/metering/controls experience without Associates Degree.
+ at least 5 years of experience with Associates Degree.
**Any Certificates, Licenses, Etc.:**
+ Successful completion of the EEI **TECH** test.

What You Will Do In Your Role
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Help to meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
- Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings
- Electrical Technician will take electrical trouble shooting calls during production as priority and are required to take mechanical calls as well. New Electrical installations projects are rare.
- On Down Days, Electrical work orders will be prioritized for electrical Technician but will be required to complete mechanical work orders as well.
- Perform all maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner
- Upload/download and research online the necessary software, maintenance and operation manual for equipment pertaining to the business to aid in performing tasks
- Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high-volume environment
- Support our safe working environment by maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Willing to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
The Experience You Will Bring
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of (3) years electrical industrial manufacturing experience

Description: Please join us as a Electrical Systems Integration Engineer , where you will lead the development and certification of the Processor and Control Electronics (PaCE) on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program.

What does this role look like?
• Link all electronics units together and verify end-to-end functional and test capabilities.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
• Perform signal tracing from box to box, including polarity and direction verification.
• Review ICDs (Interface Control Documents) and IDDs (Interface Design Descriptions) to ensure proper communication between hardware/software elements.
• Have strong understanding of system-level requirements and how they flow down to inter-box requirements.
• Validate that inter-box implementation aligns with both requirements and architecture.
• Develop/analyze/verify system level requirements and document & manage accordingly.
• Coordinate with customer and other contractors to execute verification analyses and tests.
• Organize/coordinate domain expert objective evidence creation and documentation.
• Organize/coordinate system level technical reviews.
• Mentor the team and provide guidance to early career staff.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
• Experience in a Lead role for analog and digital electronics.
• Familiarity with processes on failure investigation (root cause analysis, Failure Review Boards, etc.).
• Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
• Experience interacting with peers, management and government customers.
• Proficiency in presentations and in written communications.
• 14 - 20+ years of professional experience.
• An active DoD Secret clearance , thus US Citizenship .

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience integrating electronics or validating full system functionality.

- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans for inverters, microgrid systems, and integrated power subsystems, ensuring robust performance and compliance with design specification
- Perform critical design reviews and collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, controls, and software engineers to ensure holistic system performance and manufacturability
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of high-voltage power systems, specifically grid-tie inverters or similar AC power systems
- A collaborate-first mindset and ability to communicate across a range of disciplines and personalities
- Deep expertise in AC circuit analysis, waveform interpretation, and power quality diagnostics for 50/60hz systems, including identifying harmonics, transients, and other anomalies.
- Hands-on experience using an oscilloscope, multimeter and other test instruments to measure electrical parameters such as voltage, current, frequency
- Lab safety training to work on 400 to 800VAC and 1500VDC equipment, including LOTO and PPE awareness
- Demonstrated experience in the development, deployment, or optimization of grid-scale energy projects
- Proven expertise in the design, integration, or testing of high-voltage battery systems, including comprehensive knowledge of BMS operation and critical parameters
- Direct experience working with SEL relays for protection and control in power systems

What you will be doing:
- The Senior Staff Engineer, Systems Electrical is a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the area(s) of expertise, resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways. This role independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. In this position, the professional works in collaboration with the engineering, molecular biology, and marketing teams to implement area(s) of expertise for new and existing instrumentation systems.
- Design and develop electrical systems and architectures spanning a broad range of disciplines, i.e., digital, analog, power, packaging/thermal.
- Prototype design solutions/concepts to prove design feasibility, functionality, and performance.
- Collaborate with engineers in various fields to build innovative solutions and ensure requirements and specifications are met.
- Participate in design reviews and FMEA analysis.
- Document engineering designs and implementations and may contribute to the generation of IP.
- Contribute to the development of product specifications based on the MRDs.
- Generate test data to support Engineering Change Notices and release of new and upgraded products.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting at the component, board, and system level, documenting and presenting the results.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics and at least 8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with at least 6 years related experience, or a Ph.D. with at least 3 years related experience.
- Experience developing instrumentation for biotechnology applications.
- Experience with product development life cycle processes.
- Experience/knowledge in motion control, microfluidics control, and analog-to-digital circuit design.
- Proficiency in OrCAD, and/or equivalent PCB schematic and layout tools.
- Strong communication & presentation skills with internal and external partners and engineering leaders.
- Experience working in a regulated environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of optics, camera systems, illumination, serial bus interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART and troubleshooting of sophisticated systems.
- A working understanding of Hardware design using DFMA IPC design guidelines and Embedded firmware design experience.
- Understanding of microfluidics impedance cytometry.

**Pay Range: $28+ DOE**
*Travel required between Fremont, CA and San Jose, CA locations
Primary responsibility is to assemble, trouble shoot and test complex electro-Mechanical and Power Conditioning modules. This person will also work closely with Engineering and NPI to determine the best layout for components and assist in documentation.

+ Assist in system electrical layout
+ Specify improved electrical materials including wiring, connectors, PLC's, etc.
+ Create FRACAS (Failure Reporting and Cost Analysis System) entries as needed
+ Rework wiring harnesses as technical changes arise
+ Perform I/O testing on systems in order to ready for startup
