Role Description
This is a full-time role for a licensed Structural Engineer (P.E. or S.E.) at Gilbert Structural LLC, located in Tempe, AZ. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for analyzing multiple structural systems and be capable of working with rigid and flexible diaphragms in multi-story building construction with steel, concrete and masonry. Single Family and Multi-Family projects using wood framed and masonry construction also required.
Must be able to direct a team of drafters to create construction drawings and details for any type of project. Communication with our local team as well outside consultants and clients on a daily basis is required. Field inspections and report writing will occur as required.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
* Performs on technically complex projects and acts as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members
* Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and the client's needs
* Produce detailed, high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards; may include sealing professional documents

Job Description
As a Professional Engineer for the Structural Assessment practice at Consor, you will be responsible for leading inspections in the field to protect the traveling public. You will use various access methods for these inspections to gain visual access and take appropriate pictures to update the previous report and collect any concerning data. These structures will include mostly bridges; but also tunnels, culverts, ancillary signs and any potential structure to ensure public safety. You will have a good balance between field and office work that will include creating and checking the reports that we deliver to our clients so these structures can remain in use. You may be involved in the scheduling of inspections, client interaction, load ratings and rehabilitation design as fits your skill set and interests. What You'll Do:
• Inspections of assigned bridges and preparation of written reports on the conditions of the structures.
• Performs and leads in-depth inspections using non-destructuve testing methods, mechanized access equipment and/or climbing gear.

Job Description
The Civil Engineer provides engineering reviews, evaluations and support on a wide variety of capital improvement projects for the Public Works Department and review of proposed private development infrastructure on projects within the city. This position coordinates with a variety of stakeholders to develop utility system solutions that are technically sound, meet approved engineering requirements and are accessible to operations staff for O&M activities.
Under direct supervision of the Utility Engineering Manager, this position performs a variety of evaluative duties required to ensure proper expansion, realignment, replacement, rehabilitation or optimization of the city's water and wastewater systems. This position acts as the Public Works Department liaison in many coordination and resolution meetings with other departments, outside municipalities, regulatory and permitting agencies and other entities.
The Civil Engineer will require exceptional collaboration and communications skills to effectively review, compile, organize, and result comments from operators, supervisors, directors and other stakeholders. The position will require a high level of self-motivation and time management skills to set and meet frequent and continuous deadlines.
Essential Functions
Reviews and provides engineering comments on capital improvement and development service contract documents to ensure conformance with City codes, policies and general engineering requirements. Collaborates, as needed, with operational divisions for additional project considerations and input on long-term operation and maintenance configurations.
Acts as the engineering division liaison with other Public Works divisions, other city departments, municipalities or outside entities with respect to capital and development projects. Coordinates and provides engineering solutions to conflicts, design errors or omissions or other project issues relating to the city's water and wastewater systems.
Attends development pre-app meetings, case screening meetings, resolution conferences and plan review sessions. Compiles and provides standard and site-specific comments from Public Works staff on pre-application projects, site plan submittals, rezoning requests, and general plan amendments; conveys information to project applicants and provides clarification on standard or site-specific comments.
Assists in preparation of various documents associated with capital projects such as proposals, requests for qualifications, preliminary project estimates, project notices, submittals, scopes, fees, schedules and more.
Identifies and leads coordination efforts for real estate and/or easement acquisition for capital improvement projects. Ensures development projects proposing new easements, tracts or right-of-way with city utilities meets design and access requirements for operation and maintenance activities.
May perform site visits to verify and document existing or proposed conditions and to develop field-modifications for proposed infrastructure improvement projects.
Redlines and proposes improvements to standard city construction details, construction specifications, general engineering requirements, city codes and ordinances and other guidelines where improvements are necessary.
Prepares information and presentations on project activities or project updates that may be presented to department directors, city management or elected officials. Prepares information that may be utilized for justification of utility rate increases, impact fee development or fee adjustments.
Creates and contributes to a positive and supportive workplace culture. Pursues training, cross-training and mentorship opportunities within the division. Approaches implementation of divisional policies and procedures, changes and improvements with a high level of enthusiasm.
Performs other duties as required. May be called upon to assist other divisions within the Department or other Departments within the City.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, transportation, sanitary, etc.), public works management, business management or a related field is required.
Advanced knowledge and/or experience with municipal or private utility system operation, policies and procedures is preferred.
Additional knowledge obtained through a vocational school certificate program, master's degree, professional engineering license or other similar course of study is preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years of civil plan review, utility design, public works engineering, or project management experience is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if sufficient to perform the essential duties of the role as listed herein.
Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification through a state board or technical registration is required or must be obtained within six months of hire and must be kept current throughout employment.

Langan is seeking a Site/Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Phoenix, AZ. This individual will serve a key function in providing assistance with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects;
- Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;
- Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, test and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects;
- Recommend new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed;
- Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;
- Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
- 1+ years' experience;
- Minimum 3.0 GPA;
- EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam;
- Prior relevant internship or professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
