THE POSITION…
As an Electrical Design Engineer , you will design electrical power conversion products for aircraft critical systems and cabin applications. Experience the entire product lifecycle, from concept and requirements, through design, implementation, testing and certification and field application. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be familiar with several technologies including DC-to-AC inverters, DC-to-DC converters, AC-to-DC converters, AC-AC converters, power regulation for battery systems, power distribution and control. You can expect opportunities ranging from 10W to 600W+ capabilities. You’ll be part of the reason our customers consider us a premier instrument, avionics, and aircraft power solutions provider.
THIS POSITION MAY BE FOR YOU IF…
- You have a master’s degree in electrical engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.
- You have a minimum 5 years of experience designing power conversion products.
- You have proficiency in designing and troubleshooting analog circuits and switch-mode power electronics.
- You have a background in magnetics including power transformers and filters.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office.

Summary:
The Cyber Security & Control Systems (CSCS) Storage & Virtual (S&V) Program Support Engineer is an on-site position located at McConnell AFB, KS. The CSCS S&V Program supports the Server Consolidation Environment (SCE) and Air Force Provisional Enterprise Data Center (AFPEDC) programs. This role includes the testing, implementation and sustainment of solutions, ensuring system performance, and applying industry-standard concepts, practices, and procedures. This position will work closely with appropriate teams and will act as a liaison for AFLCMC/HNI.
The primary role for this position is to support the SCE & AFPEDC hosted virtual infrastructures providing virtual servers and backup support located on McConnell AFB. The CSCS S&V architect will provide on-site and remote engineering and integration services for the architecture and integration of products to include system architecture, solution design, performance audits, system reviews, documentation and data migration. Other duties include performing site audits and technical account management such as managing third parties, providing technical assistance and mentoring as directed, as well as providing cybersecurity recommendations in support of ATO within the RMF system.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Core Tasks
- Provide integration of new applications to include coordinating design reviews, providing List of Materials for expansion requirements and coordinating integration activities with the application team or application integration contractor
- Provide documentation of as-built drawing changes to the system
- Perform system expansion or contraction planning activities
- Support the PMO in on-boarding of new applications as required
- Support the PMO by migrating existing SCE/ AFPEDC applications to other platforms as required
- Provide VMware engineering design and architecture support for Data Center Consolidation of existing virtual data center locations
- Provide Cisco UCS engineering design and architectural support
- Provide SAN engineering design and architecture support
- Provide Commvault engineering design and architecture support
- Provide IA assessment and remediation
- Perform daily/ weekly monitoring of system performance
- Determine resolution of deployment problems in the production environment
- Provide reviews of contractor submittals of System Design and Architecture Reports and Tech Order
- Evaluate existing SCE/ AFPEDC architecture and site-specific data center services to determine change requirements at each location
- Support PMO in all aspects of the creation and incorporation of SCE/ AFPEDC architecture and design best practices
- Generate and test TCTOs to implement changes at all SCE/ AFPEDC sites
- Travel to other locations estimated at two (2) Continental United States trips per year - other travel requirements may be necessary
- Provide troubleshooting, configuration, and management support for systems and technical environments as necessary
- Leadership Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, and direct work as necessary for Field Operations Subject Matter Experts assigned to Hanscom AFB.
- Provide status updates and reports on performance and technical concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the program management staff and Sr. Field Operations Manager

Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate. **Pay Range Minimum:**
$81,765
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$134,909
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
**Work Location Options:**
Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.
