**About the Role**
In this vital leadership role, you will lead a team of controls technicians to maintain, troubleshoot, and modify material handling controls systems equipment to ensure optimal operational performance.
**What You'll Do**
+ Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
+ Fix and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, Allen Bradley Controllogix/ Compactlogix PLC platform and RSLogix 5000 software package.
+ Monitor Industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.

**What You'll** **Need**
+ Bachelors Degree with a focus in Electronic Technology or equivalent OR 2+ years of equivalent professional experience

Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on TerraPower's Natrium team. The Control Systems Engineer position will develop new electro-mechanical motion control devices with sub-micron precision. This role will require the ability to architect and provide "turn-key" solutions to our customers. This position will provide guidance and technical support to customers, gather requirements, assess feasibility, and provide holistic system design input to the design team. **Where is the work:**
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite per week) based out of **Bloomington, MN** .
**What you will do:**
+ Plan, implement and sustain a Controls Platform Roadmap by collaborating with Product Management and Internal Teams (including Digital Solutions development team) to meet current and anticipated future customer, product, and data needs.
+ Architect and oversee the development of a fully integrated embedded hardware and software platform of controls including broad product implications such as functional safety, cyber security, connectivity, reuse, modularity, etc. to be used in all product platforms in all global regions.
+ Negotiate and collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure high reuse, modularity enabling region, product, and customer specific implementations where necessary, well thought through phase in/out plans as product integration progresses, etc.
+ Lead and manage a team of software and hardware architects, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.Encourage innovation within the team and explore new technologies that could enhance the platform.
+ Present architectural vision and lead work prioritization of controller platform through participation in agile ceremonies.
+ Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in embedded control systems technology.Evaluate and recommend third-party consultation or development services, balancing custom development with purchased options.
+ Collaborate with other Controls Architects within Trane Technologies enterprise to find reuse opportunities, align on best practices, and identify architecture standards.
**What you will bring:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.A Master's degree is a plus.
+ 10+ years' experience in controls embedded software and/or hardware development (experience in both is preferred) with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
+ Demonstrated ability to create and communicate embedded control systems architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and solution blueprints.
+ Knowledge in embedded control systems design in HVAC-R, Automotive, or Off-Highway applications.

As a Control Systems Engineer you will generate controls designs and write control programs for machinery built by AGR. This position requires coordination with Engineers, Project Managers, Customers and Vendors. You will be expected to use a high level of judgment and experience to make robust, effective equipment. Work to be performed at the lowest cost consistent with quality standards, design requirements and completion schedules.
You will:
- Design controls for world-class quality industrial machinery.
- Be responsible for overall control system concept and design along with project deployment responsibility while working with designers, drafts people and technicians within the electrical department.
- Create Bills of Material.
- Be part of a collaborative and cooperative design team
- Have opportunity to act as project lead while also working in a supporting engineering and programming role as part of a larger team, often simultaneously on different projects.
- Produce automation system programs such as PLC, HMI, , Robotics etc.
- Work closely with the AGR and customer project teams throughout the build process for a high level of productive collaboration.
- Work in concert with the AGR Quality System and ISO procedures.

**What You Will Do**
+ Administration and support of industrial automation and control systems servers, workstations and associated IT hardware including process control Active Directory domain and security services.
