- Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
- Experience using basic Microsoft Office Suite computer and workforce management programs
- Ability to effectively use scheduling software
As a Human Resources Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
- Work with your HR leader to anticipate and address specific talent and staffing needs for each area of the business; this includes understanding guests' needs and ensuring the right mix of experience, and enthusiasm to deliver on the in-store and digital shopping experiences.
- Lead focused recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates with the right skills and experiences to best serve their guest.
- Support team member and leader training needs and be an advocate for continuous learning.
- Be an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices.
- Be approachable and available by listening to team members and collaborating with appropriate leaders to take action as needed.
- Deliver on all Human Resources processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption.
- Support your leader in following company compliance policies that mitigate risk to the team member experience.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
- When a guest needs assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.
- Thank guests and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
- All other duties based on business needs

- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

JOB OVERVIEW: Assists with all aspects of Human Resources. Facilitate daily HR functions, respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests, and provide administrative assistance. Assist with recruitment, maintain employee records, assist with onboarding, benefits, uniforms, and training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides administrative and clerical support to Human Resources and Payroll functions, answers employee requests and questions, makes photocopies, mails, scans and emails documents.
- Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Performs daily payroll department operations.
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Collects and summarizes timekeeping information.
- Obtains supervisory approval of time card discrepancies.
- Processes garnishment requests.
- Timely processes and closes periodic payrolls.
- Prepares and administers paychecks and processes direct deposit payments.
- Receives and distributes paychecks and pay statements.
- Processes and issues annual W-2 forms to employees.
- Processes and distributes reports for compensation, taxes paid, garnishments, and deductions.
- Updates payroll records by reviewing and/or entering approved changes in exemptions, compensation, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
- Maintains employee files in a locked cabinet.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reports needed changes.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Responds to unemployment offices, IRS, state and other outside agencies on payroll matters.
- Schedules meetings and interviews, coordinates training sessions, assists with employee events planning. Responds to all calls, voicemail, emails promptly.
- Assists with guiding employees through various human resource processes, answering any questions they may have about company policies and procedures.
- Assist the Director of Human Resources in establishing maximum standards of excellence and service to internal guests
- Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources during the recruiting process by pre-screening and interviewing potential candidates, checking their references and distributing employment offers. Tracks status of candidates in Paycom and responds to all candidates.
- Assists with onboarding of new employees and employee orientations, manages employee information documents.
- Assists with processing new-employee background checks and drug screenings.
- Prepares new-employee files. Files documents into appropriate employee files and ensures all employment requirements are met.
- Assists the Director of Human Resources with completing Forms I-9, verifying I-9 documentation and maintaining I-9 files.
- Coordinate employee pay communication.
- Produces reports on HR metrics.
- Assists with processing of terminations.
- Orders employee uniforms, maintains an inventory, issues uniforms to employees.
- Assists with preparation and coordination of the performance review process.
- Document pertinent information and reports employee comments and complaints to Director of Human Resources immediately.
- Assists the Director of Human Resources with filing reports of injury and workers' compensation claims and maintaining files.
- Provides information on benefits to employees and assist with benefit enrollments and administration.
- Reconciles benefits statements.
- Assists with audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
- Responds to requests for verifications of employment according to established policies.
- Researches uncashed payroll and accounts payable checks. Issues check replacements.
- Assist in ad-hoc HR projects.
- Assists with payroll end-of-year processes.
- Trains employees on payroll Self-Service portal and time clock.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with others.
- Maintains knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures, and accident prevention policies.
- Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
- Successfully completes all required trainings.
- Ensures that the appropriate level of confidentiality and security for all employee and company information and property is achieved.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One of more years of experience in Human Resources.

What You'll Do:
As the on-site HR Business Partner at one of our state of the art manufacturing facilities, you will provide high-quality advice and service to our 150+ person facility on a daily basis regarding employee relations, performance management and staffing support. You'll also lead the site in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience, including administrating the onboarding program. This role is also responsible for supporting our operations in Puerto Rico which has approximately 14 manufacturing plant associates.
How You'll Do It:
Primary contact for Leave of Absence, Payroll, Bonus Payments, Employee Referral payments & Tuition Reimbursement inquiries
Primary point of contact for Worker's Comp related incidents - guiding employees through reporting incidents, following up on status and appointments
Assist in recruiting by participating in selection and placement of candidates to help drive quality and timeliness of talent acquisition (coaching, providing guidance to hiring managers and helping to remove barriers)
Partner with VP, HR and hiring managers to appropriately evaluate and update position descriptions and salary grade alignment
Support implementation and administration of employee policies and identify ways to improve them
Audit ADP and HR SuccessFactors periodically to ensure org structure, cost centers and job titles are accurate
Deliver human resource related training to business partners
Support talent management processes
Collaborate with HRVPs and leaders to improve employee morale and company culture
Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary
What You'll Bring:
First, you'll need to have at least 3 years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment. Next, we'll need you to bring your ability to build credibility with all levels of the organization. With your proven attention to detail and critical thinking skills you'll help drive site HR efficiencies. You would really stand out to us if you had prior experience with LEAN methodologies and tools and proven experience working in a fast-paced organization experiencing some really exciting transformation.
5 years of related experience in HR and/or 3 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in HR
3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment. This is pretty important to us!
Strong organization, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated ability to onboard new employees and manage HR tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Other tools in your toolbelt that would be great to have is:
Bilingual in Spanish and/or Creole would be fabulous!
A natural inclination for motivation, initiative, thoroughness, decision making and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience with SAP, Success Factors would be great, but we can teach you if you have similar tool experience.
