ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
- Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency and improvement
- Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals
As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
- Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact. Follow body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach
- Engage with guests in a genuine way, which include asking questions to better understand their specific needs
- Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
- Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
- Be knowledgeable of GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed and priced for guests
- Acknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruption; partner with leadership to prioritize daily workload based on business and guest needs
- Ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categories and be knowledgeable of products in the ad
- Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom and signing processes for GM areas
- Execute processes including pricing, presentation sets, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas
- Understand how operational procedures, like planogram (POG) ties, product capacities and salesfloor quantities impact shortage, profitability, in store replenishment and inventory accuracy
- Operate power equipment only if certified
- Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties, such as federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
- All other duties based on business needs

- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Location Description Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Food Safety Coordinator maintains the documentation critical for the Quality Systems, HACCP and Food Safety and quality Plans and SQF Programs. This position is also back up for the FSQ techs and assists FSQ Manager with verifying that programs are being executed properly. FSQ coordinator position is also responsible for maintaining food safety and quality related documents ensuring quality, Holds, sanitation (SSOPs) and production records are legible, accurate, complete, maintained, and easily retrievable for customer and Food Safety and Quality audits. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensure quality, sanitation, and production records are legible, accurate, complete, maintained, and easily retrievable. - Maintain quality related manuals and records (i.e. SQF training, daily Quality records, pest control documentation, etc.), HACCP/Preventive control documents - Assist in investigations in response to customer concerns or other quality related deviations to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions. - Maintain FSQ, Sanitation documents- legible, updated - Assist in SQF, 3rd party audits, regulatory inspections, plant inspections, mock recalls - Reviewing, maintaining documents - SOPs. - Assist in the management of quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories. - Reporting holds- in plant, rework updates and managing Chex, holds records. - Assist in developing SOPs, SSOPs - Managing EMP- Swabs, locations- updates and corrective actions. - Fill-in for other QA Techs in their absence (all 3 shifts) - Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary. - Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Quality Certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. - Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. - Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations. - Ability to respond to questions from internal- at all levels including management - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. - Knowledge or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of positions. - Proficient communication skills - Knowledge of company and regulatory policies, procedures, and philosophies. - Proficient organizational and time management skills. - Basic proficiency using computer programs (MS Office) for collecting and analyzing data and writing procedures and reports. - Basic proficiency using statistical and quality related problem-solving tools. - Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking and problem-solving. - Ability to participate in cross-functional teams. - Data collection, analysis, and reporting. - Basic administrative duties. - Skill in working with computers and experience with spreadsheet and word-processing software. - Fluency in a language other than English- Preferable- Spanish. The Quality & Food Safety Manager is responsible for managing the Quality & Sanitation teams. The role includes management of roughly 90 employees across the first, second, and third shifts. - Evaluate suppliers/vendors food safety systems; monitor and report on supplier food safety performance on an ongoing basis
- Review revisions to manufacturing practices, to ensure potential food safety hazards have been adequately addressed
- Oversee the internal food safety audit program select internal audit personnel, review results of food safety audits, ensure that corrective actions are understood, and supervise corrective actions
- Reporting on corrections and corrective actions taken at Management Review meetings
- Collect, analyze, and publish measurement data, to determine the root cause of process and product food safety problems and recommend action to resolve those problems
- Initiate and supervise product defects, to ensure adequate implementation and effectiveness
- Supervise hazard analyses, report results of analyses to top management, and periodically review food safety-related processes to ensure hazards are accounted for and controlled
- Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues & reach performance goals
- Communicate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues
- Manage all aspects of product quality and food safety for the facility.
- This is inclusive of product specs, a quality manual, weight control, traceability, in-process and finished product testing and food safety and allergen. Conduct QAS self-inspections and participate in annual QAS audit program. Conduct self-inspection audits ensuring AIB and FSSC 22000 Standards requirements are met. The Quality & Food Safety Manager is responsible for managing the Quality & Sanitation teams. The role includes management of roughly 90 employees across the first, second, and third shifts. The role has a site-wide impact as the owner of Food Safety Systems. It is an excellent opportunity to gain experience managing a team on food safety and sanitation success. The ideal person has excellent communication and coaching skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with all departments. - Periodically review all food safety procedures and instructions, to ensure they remain current
- Review requests to change FSMS-related procedures and work instructions and direct the Food Safety Team through such reviews

The Food Safety Sanitor performs sanitation labor by performing the eight steps of sanitation while understanding and complying with all food safety and safety policies and procedures. Job duties include:
- Work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
- Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers, etc.
- Wear employer-specified personal protective equipment ("PPE") such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, safety glasses, etc.
