What We're Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Support for the Online CSD Graduate Program to manage and oversee the student support team for student success and retention. This role is remote eligible.
A master's degree and one year of work experience as a speech-language pathologist or in higher education are required. A master's degree and two years of prior work experience as a speech-language pathologist or in higher education are preferred.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
- Manage and oversee the student support team for student success and retention
- Supervise the Student Support Managers by ensuring that:
- All 350+ students are contacted on an "on-going basis" regarding their enrollment and academic requirements as determined by the Assistant Director of Program Operations
- All student records are updated with LOAs, new Plans of Study, extended graduation dates, and program withdrawals
- All student grades are monitored, and academic concerns and personal student issues are addressed
- All goals set at staff evaluations and strategic planning are completed
- Manage and resolve (when possible) escalated student issues related to:
- Program policies, rules, and procedures
- Problems with registration schedules
- Petition/waiver process
- Other Baylor offices such as financial aid, registrar, and OALA
- Place and release registration holds each trimester based on student completion of current enrollment requirements
- Enroll students in simulations and program related Canvas courses
- Manage student clinical clearances (Castlebranch, EXXAT, and/or Complio) for practicum and internship
- Communicate student issues with academic and placement teams
- Participate in new student admissions webinars
- Create and organize student engagement events, newsletters, and media posts for academic and social outreach
- Organize the student mentor/ambassador program and assign duties to students
- Maintain academic education databases and maintain student participation (Ex: Canvas, Zoom, Teams, SharePoint, TrueLearn, and Slate) and all student files
- Assist in establishing the trimester course schedule and obtaining the textbook lists
- Monitor that students file to graduate and complete all graduate requirements
- Organize and obtain information for online student directories and mail out IDs
- Contribute information and student data to enrollment and leadership committees, clinical faculty, strategic planning, program assessment, and data reviews for university and CAA requirements
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission

Job Description:
The Library Communications & Administration Assistant helps with various aspects of the library communications team's daily functions and related projects, while also supporting the functions of the Office of the University Librarian. This position is intended to support the growth and advancement of students' communications skills while working in a professional office environment. This position is open to students with and without Federal Work Study awards.
Responsibilities:
- Developing content for library social media platforms & identifying opportunities for the library to engage with our audiences.
- Answering phone calls, greeting visitors to the Office of the University Librarian, & maintaining presence at the administrative front desk.
- Assisting the Budget Coordinator with accounting records & maintaining office inventory through routine supply organization & ordering.
- Assisting with the planning, set up, & execution/logistical support of student facing and internal library events.
- Printing posters & communication/event materials, filing, copying, & data entry.
- Participating in periodic team meetings and assisting with special projects as assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work:
- Part-Time.
- Must be available to work 8-10 hours/week, minimum of 2-3 hours per shift as determined by operational needs.
- This position will generally work between the hours of 9AM-5PM. There will be intermittent opportunities for work outsides of these hours when Library events fall outside of these hours, however these additional hours will never be required and will only be filled by the incumbent as their schedule allows.
Salary Range:
- $17.95 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
- Experience in developing graphics for social media, video/media production, or related skills / experience within the Communication & Public Relations fields.
- This position requires a person with the ability to communicate with professionals at all levels and with the public.
- Applicants must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- They should be organized, able to see projects through to completion, and have a self-motivated desire to strengthen their skills and participate in opportunities to broaden their professional experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous experience with marketing and communications or organizing and running events in a student leadership or professional environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in social media management, graphic design, video production, or marketing & outreach strategy.
- The ideal applicant will also demonstrate initiative, the ability to prioritize, and be attentive to detail.

About the Position:
The Student Services Assistant plays an important role in supporting graduate students through academic advising, communications, and event planning. The Student Services Assistant works closely with the Director of Graduate Student Services, the Program Director, and the Graduate Academic Advisor in the Carter School. Occasional evening activities are required in conjunction with the Carter School Admissions Office events and orientation schedules. This position is based in Arlington, VA.
This is a part-time position (20 hours/week). Flexible schedule can be arranged. Standard business hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday; may require evening work depending on the student services event schedule.
Responsibilities:
Graduate Student Success Support:
- Manage graduate student services event calendar;

Academic Advising:
