Job Description
The Director of Gastro Account Managers (GAMs) will lead the infield GAM team, providing focus and clarity to optimize team performance. This role will ensure that infusion sites of care are able to efficiently acquire and administer SKYRIZI to appropriately prescribed IBD patients. The Director will work with cross-functional in-house partners, e.g. Marketing, OEC, MABI, and trade partners to ensure the proper resources and metrics are used to optimize and evaluate performance of the GAM team. The Director will provide leadership support to C-suites at large external infusion accounts, and partner with FRM leadership, IAE leadership, and Trade leadership to ensure a coordinated, All For One AbbVie, effort is applied to Infusion accounts.
Responsibilities:
+ Strong leadership (2nd line leadership) This role is responsible for direct leadership of three Senior Managers and three National GAMs, and second line leadership of three Regional GAMs and the local GAM team. The Director will be responsible for creating a culture consistent with AbbVie ways of working which rewards collaboration, high standards, and optimal account management execution. The Director will create and apply an objective, metrics-based approach to evaluate and reward top performance of the GAM field team
+ Strong Account Management skills: The Director will have strong account management skills and be able to navigate various types of health care accounts (e.g. IDNs, IOIs, etc.) They will be able to apply this expertise to help lead the team through complex situations and optimize the team's performance.
+ Strong Executive Presence and presentation skills: The Director will be the face of the GAM team to Gastro and Immunology leadership, providing performance updates on the team and top accounts. They will meet with Marketing leaders, and other Gastro IBT leaders to understand Brand objectives and position the GAM team for success. They will create and execute presentations
+ Strong Strategic Skills: The director will need to be able to navigate both internal and external dynamics and meet the needs of the business. The Director will be able to navigate the AbbVie matrix to optimize the performance of the GAM team and meet the team's objectives. The Director will be able to navigate the changing dynamics of the infusion market and health care market and anticipate potential hurdles and opportunities and adapts plans to ensure patients have the best infusion experience that they can.
This position is open to candidates who reside anywhere within the United States.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, or healthcare administration
+ 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry: preferably leading account management teams, market access, Marketing and sales leadership
+ 5+ years of successfully leading teams, preferably second line leadership and account management teams. Experience creating cultures of high performance and collaboration. Experience creating accountability plans and incentive structures that drive results
+ Strong skills in navigating complex matrix organizations. Displaying an ability to drive action and results through collaboration, partnership and leadership
+ 5+ years of account management or related experience. Displaying a deep understanding of the complexity of various types of health care accounts, e.g. IDNs, IOIs, PE ownership, GPO ownership and other models. Displaying the ability to drive action and results in all types of health care accounts.
+ Deep understanding of buy and bill. The economics of buy and bill accounts including motivators for health care decision making. Compliance guardrails associated with buy and bill and the ability to understand and compliantly lead within these guardrails.
+ Experience and deep understanding of contracting in the buy and bill space. Including impacts of direct contracting vs. GPO contracting and impact to ASP and other reimbursement impact.
+ Experience and understanding of patient support programs. Internal guardrails and external motivators

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**
+ Develop a Sales Plan with the Branch Manager for each assigned territory, to be updated regularly with report submittal.
