A day in the life of an Senior Accountant
Working out of our Rockland Headquarters, the Senior Accountant will perform varied financial recordkeeping duties and assist in the daily operations of the Corporate Finance department.
The main responsibilities of an Senior Accountant include assisting in month end closing process, including journal entries, reviewing financials, and making recommendations to the controller. Ensure the Credit Unions assets and liability accounts are in balance daily and comply with GAAP, as well as monitoring the day to day operations of the department. Review and reconcile the Federal Reserve bank account daily and ensure timely resolution of any out of balance conditions. Provide back up support to the controller and treasury functions when required.
Skills & Requirements
The ideal Senior Accountant candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance and a minimum of 6 years of accounting experience. We are looking for someone with a basic understanding of accounting principles as well as strong technical skills, particularly in excel. RFCU is also looking for someone who has accounting experience within the banking industry and understands core banking systems.
Work Schedule and Benefit
As a Senior Accountant, you will work a 40-hour full-time schedule Monday-Friday.
