Lyft is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, to its Accounting team. This is a crucial role that will assist in overseeing financial reporting in a fast paced, public company environment. This role will support the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, and will work with stakeholders across the organization, to deliver timely internal and external reporting in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare SEC filings including Form 10-Ks, Form 10-Qs, Form 8-Ks, and other required reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SEC regulations and US GAAP, including preparation of supporting schedules, tie out of financial statements, disclosures and other external releases
  • Research relevant disclosure requirements and SEC rules, as well as perform benchmarking of peer company disclosures
  • Prepare and maintain calendar of recurring reporting milestones
  • Work with external auditors to support the audit process and the related reviews of financial statements including preparation and ongoing support
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications, to gather necessary information for SEC filings
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings releases and other financial communications
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls as it pertains to financial reporting
  • Assist in various ongoing and ad-hoc projects or initiatives as needed
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA required
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting; 2+ years of Big 4 or other nationally recognized public accounting firm experience required
  • Experience with financial reporting systems. Workiva experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Accounting research and problem solving skills required

What You'll Do

  • Research, analyze, and document technical accounting issues and memos and prepare calculations to support accounting conclusions and facilitate external audit reviews in accordance with US GAAP, including but not limited to ASC 350-40 (Capitalized Software), ASC 340 (Capitalized Commissions), ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 718 (Stock-Based Compensation), ASC 805 (Business Combinations), and ASC 480 (Debt & Equity).
  • Collaborate with teams across Accounting Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, and other departments to ensure technical guidance is consistently operationalized and understood.
  • Support initiatives to enhance external reporting readiness, including complex accounting topics, disclosures, and process improvements.
  • Help design and implement efficient, SOX-compliant accounting processes and internal controls to support organizational growth.
  • Partner with external auditors and consultants to ensure timely and accurate conclusions on accounting matters.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on technical accounting topics and emerging standards.
Skills We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of combined experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or corporate accounting at a SaaS or high-growth technology company; CPA license strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical accounting expertise and experience drafting memos on complex, non-routine transactions.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX).

As a Financial Reporting Manager, this role’s responsibilities include the research and communication of technical accounting issues and navigation of new business initiatives, and their corresponding accounting implications. The incumbent will be responsible for understanding the finer details of proposed or executed transactions through review of available contracts and agreements and collaboration with key cross-functional business partners including our US and

international accounting teams. You will leverage your experience researching relevant

accounting guidance to identify key accounting issues and to recommend accounting and

disclosure requirements for complex non-routine transactions. The role will require your

ability to communicate concisely and effectively and be able to inform all key stakeholders

in the organization of the accounting and business implications of transactions,

particularly those with limited or no accounting background.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

• Oversee technical accounting matters, including carrying out research and documentation for a variety of complex and non-standard contracts and/or transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, debt offerings, derivatives, adoption of new standards, and general corporate accounting matters

• Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC guidance to determine the accounting and financial reporting treatment for new, material, and/or complex, unusual transactions or agreements and partner with key cross-functional business partners including our US and international accounting teams, senior management, internal and external auditors

• Prepare and or review technical accounting memorandums for significant or new transactions

• Active role in updating/implementing accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes within the Company, evolving industry standards, SEC/GAAP regulations, SOX 404 requirements, best practices and drive changes in those areas

• Monitor, understand and provide interpretation of new and proposed accounting pronouncements including areas related to accounting for revenue recognition and assist key stakeholders in assessing financial, operational and reporting implications.

• Assist in the preparation of periodic forms filed with the SEC (Forms 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K)

• Work with internal partners on initiatives to improve the organization including (but not limited to) new processes, procedures or system enhancements

• Assist with ad hoc projects and prepare responses to various requests for information

• Responsible for 404 compliance for direct areas of responsibility and support overall 404 compliance

• Other duties as assigned which may require up to 20% of time working outside your daily roles.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6+ years of progressive responsibilities -- mix of audit and public company experience preferred

• Experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions required

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in researching and documenting new

accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of issues

• Comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued

accounting pronouncements and SEC reporting principles and regulations

• Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control frameworks

• Exceptional communication skills, including technical report writing and the ability

to effectively present information to various levels of an organization

• Excellent interpersonal and project management skills with ability to work effectively with multiple functional areas and collaborate with people with a diverse set of talents and perspectives

What You’ll Do Location: Hybrid – Based near one of Axon’s U.S. hubs (Scottsdale, Seattle, Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Sterling, or Denver) Assist in researching and resolving complex technical accounting issues in compliance with US GAAP and adoption of new accounting standards and pronouncements. Train and mentor team members on technical revenue topics and help shape scalable processes as the company grows globally. Contribute to the preparation and review of SEC filings – most notably revenue-related footnotes, MD&A disclosures, and additional technical disclosure areas applicable for Forms 10-K and 10-Q. Job Summary: The individual will oversee the consolidation of financial statements in Business Objects Financial Consolidation (BOFC) under the supervision of the Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting and Consolidation. The individual will apply his/her knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures, and will work as part of the Consolidation Department. He/she will understand and assist in meeting the needs of the Corporate Consolidation Department at the parent company in Paris, France. This position works closely with members of the FCPA, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, the Executive Management team, our French parent-company and their corresponding auditors.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage and own all deliverables and complex financial transactions related to the consolidation of the assigned Segment(s) or assigned by Sr. Manager.
  • Manage and own preparation of analytical reviews and corresponding analysis for Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow Statements for the assigned Segment(s).
  • Validate and upload SAP estimate and actual data into BOFC, oversee and validate the breakdown of flows, cost centers, debt, intercompany, and clearing of controls for the Segment.
  • Expected to train junior members of team on process.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Finance teams (tax, treasury, FCPA and account) and other business team (Development, Construction, Divesture, Supply, Valuations, etc.) to anticipate and generate proper accounting/consolidation entries for potential and actual operations.
  • In charge of IFRS subjects/standards, memo preparation, report impact analysis or transversal studies on standards, and prepare training for members of the Corporate Finance Group as necessary.
  • Manage Cashflow analysis and data requests from internal and our Management.
  • Primary contact for our auditors for the assigned segment and preparation of necessary schedules, support and communication.
  • Communication with Paris Team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 100% of time is spent in an office environment utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience preferred; consolidation is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Finance or equivalent experience required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Preferred experience in Renewables/Energy sector in an international environment.
  • Ability working with Business Objects Financial Consolidation (BOFC) or Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) software preferred.
  • SAP/ERP experience is highly preferred.

About The Role

Demandbase is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Compliance to join our dynamic Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting, this individual will play a critical role in financial reporting, statutory reporting compliance, and technical accounting. This is a high-impact role involving strategic collaboration across functions including FP&A, R&D, external service providers, and auditors, and offers a unique opportunity to lead technical reporting and compliance efforts within a fast-paced, innovative organization.

This position will oversee the preparation and integrity of financial reporting, research complex accounting issues, drive statutory compliance, and support audit and investor communications. The role is remote-friendly and offers flexibility based on candidate location.

The base compensation range for this position for candidates in the SF Bay Area is: $140,000 - $75,000. For all other locations, the base compensation range is based on the primary work location of the candidate as our ranges are location specific. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skillset, years of experience, and depth of experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the U.S. GAAP for top management, the Audit Committee, and other parties as needed.
  • Oversee US audit and statutory reporting obligations and coordinate with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate local filings.
  • Oversee the preparation of the company's tax provision and coordinate tax filings with third-party providers.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with loan covenants.
  • Lead investor relations communications, including delivery of quarterly financial updates.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all financial reporting.
  • Drive process improvements and standardization in financial reporting and internal documentation.
  • Draft accounting memos and perform complex accounting entries, including but not limited to leases (ASC 842), internal-use software (ASC 350), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), and other complex or non-standard transactions.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting operations experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong expertise in the U.S. GAAP and technical accounting.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
  • CPA preferred; Big 4 experience a plus.
