Under moderate supervision, you will perform one or more of the following composite part manufacturing functions: lay-up, cutting, bagging, autoclave, trimming, and/or repair, in a production environment.
**Essential Functions** :
+ Manufacture composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications, in a team oriented work environment.
+ Demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review.
+ Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
+ Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection.
+ Maintain and use all logs and records. Example: MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI, etc.
+ Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations.
+ Support Lean activities.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
+ Must be able to work any shift.
**Education and Experience Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ One (1) year related composite experience.
+ Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
+ Requires ability to read a interpret blueprints.
+ Read and interpret 6" scale.
+ Composite layup experience

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform NDE (UT, MT) inspections as required by customer in accordance with customer / TIRNDE written procedures.
  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
  • Document all inspections on the appropriate NDE reports and review prior to submitting to TIR QA.
  • Compare results with available ILI data and report findings.
  • Organize and report test results
  • Maintain close working relationship with construction crews and field personnel.
  • Perform pipe to soil readings, soil resistivity, MIC test, coating inspections as required by customer.
  • Provide training oversight for level I technicians.
  • Maintain continual communication with client representative (chief inspector, site inspector, integrity engineers)
  • Ensure all activities are performed in a safe and professional manner. Adhere to and enforce TIR safety policies.
  • Perform other job duties and related tasks as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Level II Certification in UT and MT with Laser Scanner experience.
  • Experience in PAUT, Laser Scanner, AUT, or PMI.
  • Minimum of 2 years Pipeline Integrity experience, 5 years of experience recommended.
  • Ability to provide personal 4x4 vehicle.
  • Working knowledge of pipeline welding and nondestructive testing procedures and specifications, including API 1104.
  • Working knowledge of station, facility and plant nondestructive testing procedures and specifications as applicable under ASME Section IX Welding codes.
  • Decision making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work confidently with multiple computer software programs. (Excel, Office)
  • Ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
