What You Will Be Doing:
- Leading engineering and design efforts for site civil, stormwater drainage, roadway, and utility design projects.
- Projects include site and infrastructure civil design, landfill design, impoundments, sewers, and roadway plans and profiles.
- Problem-solving across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Participating in and coordinating various design and construction meetings with clients and subcontractors (including Pre-bid meetings).
- Planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating teams for detailed design work.
- EnSafe is a sell/manage/do organization, so your duties will also include marketing/sales, project and practice management, and client management.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of civil design experience with an Engineering consulting firm.
- Current P.E. in the respective state.
- Previous experience with civil engineering design capabilities with both municipal and private clients.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Engineering design, analysis, and review of different product lines including oil/water separators, grease interceptors, solids separators, lift stations, acid neutralization systems, stormwater products and utilities. - Present project-specific solutions to civil, plumbing, and mechanical engineering customers
- Provide high-quality design calculations, basic to complex illustrations, and advice to integrate ParkUSA products on site plans in order to get specified
- Provide structural designs for full range of precast products manufactured by the Precast Infrastructure plants
- Respond to civil, plumbing, and mechanical engineering clients on project-specific inquiries, design, and product structural requirements
- Establish and maintain rapport with civil, plumbing, and mechanical engineer customers
- Support field and internal team members to achieve team goals
- Assist sales team during the project bid phase by providing design review and confirming appropriate product design
- Provide project and technical support for submittals drawings, production, and product delivery
- Maintain engineering standards and procedures
- Manage product design, calculations, drawings, estimating, quotes, production, delivery, and installation of products.
- Assist Plants with Engineering design and production, and improvements to design and production processes.
- Review drawings to ensure improvement on efficiency and quality.

We are seeking a talented civil engineer to join our team who will produce engineering documents for the site preparation, grading, drainage, roads, and paving for our facilities. This position will serve multiple roles with the goal of ensuring efficiently produced high quality civil engineering documents for our projects. The ideal candidate should be a working leader that is detail oriented and able to keep track of multiple tasks with separate deadlines.
This position will report to the Civil Engineering Manager. This position is located in our Downtown Houston office and is a Monday-Friday in-office position .
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of calculations, quantities, reports, drawings, and specifications for the civil sitework scope of engineering of the project. Seal and sign the final civil engineering documents.
- Collaborate with and support other disciplines, sub consultants, project controls, project management, and others
- Perform all functions within the civil engineering and design team as needed to create examples or meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 8 to 15 years of relevant experience within oil, gas, and chemical facilities and preferably LNG within an EPC company
- Professional Engineering License
- Louisiana Professional Engineering License, NCEES Record, or have all qualifications needed to obtain a Louisiana License within 4 months of the start date.
- Skill in oral and written communication
Software Knowledge:- AutoCAD
- Experience using a graphically to-scale integrated hydrology and hydraulics site drainage software such as EPA SWMM, PCSWMM, Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA), or InfoDrainage.

Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing and guiding civil engineering design and construction for a wide range of industrial projects for Messer, including large-scale air separation plants, liquid CO2 plants, cylinder filling plants and associated infrastructure.
This role will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that civil works meet all technical, regulatory, and safety requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
This role will be key to working with Messer's external design firms to develop cost effective solutions for the civil portion of Messer's investments and driving competitive improvement.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Lead and take ownership of all civil engineering design for all Messer major capital projects. Be involved from solution phase (proposal) through construction and final handover. Lead and manage design efforts for complex industrial plants, infrastructure, and related civil works.
- Oversight of the multiple Coordinate with construction personnel to resolve RFIs, NCRs and general support as needed
- Provide technical expertise in the design of civil structures, including foundations, roads, drainage, site development, and other related works. Ensure designs comply with local regulations. Interface with the proposals group to generate preliminary design and cost information for projects
- Lead efforts to identify civil engineering risks on projects and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure all designs and construction activities follow safety protocols and adhere to environmental requirements.
- Review civil engineering bids and schedules, ensuring that project civil scopes are accurate and fit for purpose. Proactively address any issues that could cause delays or cost overruns.
- Serve as technical resource for other departments within Messer Americas as needed
- Development of Messer Civil Engineering standards and procedures
- Representative of Messer for professional standard committees as needed
- 3rd party engineering organizations that support Messer Americas projects, including review of designs, calculations, specifications, schedules and procedures.
Required Skills:
- Highly proficient with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
- Familiarity with laser scan software such as LFM viewer or Quantapoint, Tekla or SDS-2 detailing software, and CAD drafting software platforms recommended
- Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STADD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS), technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
- Deep Knowledge of Geotechnical surveys, soil classification and the ability to interpret results to drive for efficient foundation designs
- Ability to advise on relevant site codes and regulations on the national, state and local levels, as well as determine both basic site loads (seismic, wind, snow, ice, etc) and equipment specific loads from IBC and ASCE requirements.
- Ability to review concrete foundation design packages (including anchorage systems) for both static and rotating equipment common to chemical plants such as storage tanks, coldboxes and compressors to relevant codes and standards such as ACI 318.
- Ability to provide engineering oversight for civil engineering onsite work for the construction of new plants as needed
- Ability to review structural steel fabrication drawings and calculations per relevant codes and regulations such as AISC 360 and AWS D1.1
- Ability to review environmental impact assessments for construction activities
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science / Engineering in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 7-15 years relevant experience in foundation, civil and structural design for industrial facilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- Experience with industrial gases, cryogenic systems, air separation plants and chemical plants is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $113,909-$167,066 .
