**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a **Sr Civil Engineer** to join our team in **Guam** . The Sr Civil Engineer will lead the team providing oversight and management of various project tasks, the development of technical concepts and designs, and the preparation of documents including reports, studies, plans, specifications, and estimates.
The Sr Civil Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects - both domestic and international. Projects may include Healthcare facilities, Federal, Science + Tech, High Education, Sports + Rec, Transportation or Infrastructure projects for a range of prospective clients, including state, Federal, and local agencies as well as private entities.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Senior technical resource may serve as technical lead for team.
+ Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
+ Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
+ Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
+ Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
+ Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
+ Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
+ Prepares technical specification sections.
+ Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Valid U.S. Driver's License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available. Selected candidate will undergo a Motor Vehicle Records review.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Demonstrated experience working on site/civil design projects.
+ Experience preparing calculations and design documents (reports, plans, specifications)
+ 8+ years of experience, in civil engineering and building development projects covering all aspects of building design - survey, design development, construction documents, construction administration.
+ PE license in Civil Engineering with the ability to attain a Guam Professional Engineer Registration within 12 months.
+ Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Arc GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models
+ Demonstrated experience in planning and organizing tasks and teams in a deadline intensive environment
+ Experience working in large and complex projects/programs.
+ Experience with Federal projects is a plus.

CIVIL ENGINEER (USCG):
Bowhead is seeking a Civil Engineer to provide civil engineering services to United States Coast Guard (USCG) Civil Engineering Unit (CEU) Juneau. Position is located at USCG CEU in Juneau, AK, in support of projects throughout the 17th Coast Guard District (D17) area of responsibility (AOR). Services include independent technical reviews, project scope development, field investigation, planning, specifications, drawings, cost estimating, problem and conflict resolution, scheduling and design production, and facility condition assessments.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide civil engineering services for the CEU Juneau in support of work associated with projects on the Advanced Acquisition Plan and other inserted projects.
- Provide civil engineering trouble-shooting and/or consultations, providing technical and project advice and guidance to CEU Juneau Project Managers.
- Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of professional studies, reports and analysis.
- Collaborate with managers, other engineers/architects, construction project managers, legal staff, contract specialists and or contractor personnel, and provides advice and insight on the resolution of unique and/or complex engineering problems and disputes.
- Provide technical reviews and review comments for project designs, including Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build efforts.
- Provide technical responses for A/E and contractor requests for information and coordinates with CEU Juneau Project Manager in developing Scopes of Work for required contract modifications.
- Provide facility condition assessments and evaluations throughout D17.
- Travel (potential for overnight) to meet with CEU Juneau staff and review contract performance is required. Other travel may include occasional travel to operational & construction sites in USCG District 17 Area of Responsibility (D17 AOR - Alaska Maritime Region).
**Qualifications**
- Requires a minimum of five (5+) years of work experience in the civil engineering field and BA/BS degree in related field. Ten (10+) years of experience and MA/MS degree in related field preferred.
- Must have demonstrated mastery of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
- Experience in National Codes and Mechanical Engineering sub-disciplines (including heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, fuel systems, tanks, pumps, piping, steam, and minor structural, etc.) is required.
- Licensed Professional Engineer or other industry-standard professional license related to position highly desirable.
- Experience with design work for conditions in the D17 AOR (high seismic, high-wind and coastal maritime climate conditions), AutoCAD drafting skills, developing/reviewing technical packages for Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build and performance specifications is highly desirable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is primarily sedentary and is performed in a normal office environment. The contractor may be exposed to risks associated with field work which may include moderate stress such as being exposed to adverse weather, riding in small aircraft, climbing ladders, crawling under buildings, etc.

**General Summary:**
The Civil Engineer will prepare site development plans and specifications for commercial and industrial sites in conformance to client requirements and local ordinances. The Civil Engineer will work with and advise other disciplines on site issues that may impact architectural development and building systems and develop criteria for procuring sub-consultant services.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Review and/or establish project scope, civil budget, design approach and applicable constraints with department manager, Project Manager, and client as appropriate.
+ Prepare feasibility studies and civil cost estimates.
+ Formulate design of civil systems including underground utilities, paving, grading, and drainage for small to medium sized projects.
+ Develop site layout(s) in accordance with zoning and other applicable ordinances and requirements.
+ Edit or write project specifications.
+ Evaluate design options for consideration by Project Manager and/or client.
+ Monitor project budgets and schedules. Adjust work efforts as required to meet budget and schedule goals.
+ Prepare working drawings for construction on CAD with support from department staff when applicable.
+ Conduct field measuring and/or survey verification at project site. Perform basic topographic surveying for minor projects.
+ Review drawings for omissions, errors, overall quality, content accuracy, and compliance with standards and codes.
+ Review product submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents, specify action necessary for compliance.
+ Prepare project file updates, transmittals, letters, reports, and other project correspondence.
+ Assist with checking, standards review, and maintenance of master specifications.
+ With Project Manager, attend meetings with governmental agencies as required for obtaining site plan approval. Ability to address public and governmental groups in open meetings is essential.
+ Coordinate project with other disciplines and advise of site/building system conflicts.
+ Prepare site plan submittal documents in accordance with local requirements.
+ Visit construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
+ Develop and mentor less experienced staff.
+ Develop cost and quantity estimates.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
