Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst will report to the Director of Finance and be based at Kindle Energy headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey. This will be a junior/entry-level role supporting senior Financial Analysts/Managers and the variety of activities that the Finance team supports.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans, operating forecasts, acquisition activity, and cost reporting for projects in development/construction
- Analyze past operational results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
- Perform financial analyses, project evaluations, and due diligence to support recommendations for plant optimization, recovery plans, major projects and capital investments, and revenue enhancement proposals
- Analyze the key market components that may impact the value of Kindle Energy managed assets
- Work closely with the commercial team, accounting, and various technical teams and advisors to prepare and review detailed forecasts of income statements, cash flows and balance sheets
- Assist in the evaluation of a variety of strategic business and financial decisions and preparation of recommendations for Kindle Energy management
- Conduct economic research as required with respect to power and natural gas energy markets
- Prepare board-quality presentations and documentation
- Undertake ad-hoc projects and create reports as needed

This role partners closely with multiple operating markets in developing programming and other direct costs budgets and supports strategic decision-making by delivering insightful financial analyses to various stakeholders, including executive leadership. The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting efforts.
A Day in the Life of the Financial Analyst:
- Analyze and interpret agreements with video programming providers to determine financial impacts.
- Partner with corporate leaders and regional market teams to prepare and validate video programming budgets and forecasts using customer projections.
- Provide variance analyses comparing actual programming costs to budgeted and forecasted amounts; investigate and explain key drivers of discrepancies.
- Analyze and provide variances analysis and key metrics on other direct costs, including, but not limited to power supplies, pole rental, and right of way costs.
- Perform scenario-based ("what if") financial analyses to support programming contract negotiations and tracking of pole rental agreements and costs.

What You Bring to the Table:
- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related area; telecommunications or media industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques; experience with financial planning systems such as Power BI, SAP, Hyperion, Planful, or Oracle is a plus.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and their application in financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis. The Financial Analyst supports the Finance team and organizational departments by providing financial analysis, technical support with accounting/financial application systems, and recommendations for process improvements. May provide guidance to Accounting Clerks on the completion of more complicated transactions.

Ensure all accounting is in line with financial principles (GAAP, PSAB, legislation, etc.).
Conduct analysis of capital data for use in completing ARO activities.

3. Internal Review and Analysis:

Provide tracking and analysis for capital asset projects including related funding including development charges.

4. Reconciliations and Audits:
Perform complex account and financial statement reconciliations as needed, including resolution of outstanding items.
Conduct payroll variance analysis, across union groups and including 24/7 operations.
Prepare detailed audit working papers and provide explanations to auditors as requested.
Maintain internal/external debt and reserve schedules and continuities.
5. Process Documentation:
Produce detailed flowcharts for financial processes within administrative departments.
Support the review, documentation, and recommendation of changes in policies and procedures as needed.
6. Government and External Reporting:
Aid in the preparation and review of government reports and other external reporting for complex transactions.
7. Journal Entries:
Review and post journal entries prepared by other staff members, may also prepare and post journal entries as required.
8. Compliance and Confidentiality:
Maintain confidentiality while working on analysis and costing for new programs, request for proposals, and projects as well as Council reports.
Comply with provincial and organization occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Job Description
The Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with the VP of Reimbursement, leveraging expertise in CareTend, CareTend BI, and CPR+ . This role is key to enhancing data utilization and management reporting across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail, enabling them to effectively gather, organize, analyze, and present large volumes of data with precision and accuracy.
Reporting to: Director of Financial Planning & Analysis
Job Type: Hybrid/Remote, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri
Requirements- A bachelors degree in accounting or a related field required (i.e., Finance, Software Development, Computer Science, etc.)
- 5+ years of relevant work experience required
- Knowledge of CareTend and/or CPR+ required
- Healthcare experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Experience with databases, reporting, and data mining using Excel required
- Strong systems orientation (preferred)
- Experience with BI tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, Sisense) (preferred)
- Prior experience with Medicare rules, regulations, billing codes (preferred)
- Ability to work independently
- Must be organized and able to multitask
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Open to dynamic change and able to thrive in such environments
- Develop and maintain KPI reports related to revenue cycle performance, including collection rates, denial rates, and days in accounts receivable
- Create new metrics, analyses, and reports to understand business operations and address gaps
- Expertise in SQL and stored procedures
- Design, implement, and support CareTend and/or CPR+ architectures, applying standards for security (HIPAA/HITRUST), scalability, performance, and reliability
- Load data marts for analytics, reporting, and BI tools
- Deliver ad hoc reports and analytics as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, teleconferences, and patient care conferences as required
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requires verbal communication, attentive listening, prolonged sitting at a desk, and working on a computer. May involve lifting files, opening filing cabinets, bending, or standing as needed.
