Provide accounting expertise and support to the management of the Hospitality & Real Estate businesses. To be an active member of the business operating team. Provide support for the planning and budgeting processes. Provide analysis of operations and for special projects including new business opportunities. Improve the profitability of the businesses serviced and the Hospitality & Real Estate Group by being a true business partner and financial advisor.

Specific Responsibilities

Financial Consultant to assigned businesses:

  • Function as a contributing member of the operating teams.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly forecasts, driving accuracy, and accountability.
  • Assist in the coordination of the strategic, financial, budgeting, capital, and manpower planning processes.
  • Provide monthly in-depth operational analysis and review these results with the H&RE Management Team and Group Controller.
  • Prepare and present studies, projects, analysis and reports as required for the operations and related projects.
  • Responsible for the review and analysis of all capital expenditure requests. This includes understanding and analyzing official vs. cost avoidance savings, ensuring Capital ACT procedures/policies are adhered to, and calculating ROIs. The expectation is that proper documentation will be secured at the end, to easily facilitate a later post audit.
  • Assist management in improving operational results.
  • Direct the accounting activities that are part of the monthly and annual accounting close for the businesses serviced. Responsible for the accuracy, legitimacy and timeliness of accounting transactions, source documents and records.
  • Responsible for accuracy in all statements and reports of the businesses being serviced and those related sections of the corporate monthly reporting book. Responsible for the evaluation and analysis of all income statements, cash flow and balance sheet activity for the businesses serviced.
  • Initiate and participate in the implementation of information systems within the businesses serviced. Concentrating on the improvement of the quality, brevity, and timeliness of the information.
  • Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures within the businesses serviced.
  • Ensure that controls are adequate for the businesses serviced.
  • Assisting in the design, development and maintenance of various computer systems that impact the businesses serviced.

Capital and Project Coordination:

  • Serve as the Accounting Project Lead for major capital projects within the businesses. This may include assisting with ACT and project setup, regular discussions regarding status versus budget, focusing on capital spending and depreciation forecasts/plan, the timely setup of completed assets, the resolution of any financial related issues, and directing support staff to assist with the process.
  • Responsible for other capital asset activities, including asset transfers, asset disposals, and supporting the physical inventory of capital assets.

Associate Engagement:

  • Assist in the creation of a positive work environment, which is conducive to increased productivity and encourages, recognizes, and acknowledges individual efforts and personal development.
  • Support and encourage active participation in the Group's service and improvement programs.
  • Act as a leader with the goal of setting the standard of performance for new associates, training them and helping them grow in their careers.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of experience in Finance
  • Advanced MS Excel skills

US Commercial Finance Sr. Financial Analyst Discounts & Trade

Position Overview:

As a member of the Johnsonville US Commercial Finance Team, the Senior Financial Analyst Discounts & Trade (D&T) will combine their financial technical, analytical expertise and leadership skills to partner with the Sales teams to drive business value. The successful candidate will be a key member providing coaching, financial analysis, decision-making support and recommendations, and development of financial acumen across the entire U.S. team.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and oversight for US Discounts & Trade Investment performance and reporting
  • Coach two members supporting the U.S. Commercial Traditional & Mass and Alternative Channels TPM systems and processes
  • Be the front-line support to our TPM solutions to ensure that the systems are optimized and reflect the changing business needs
  • Support monthly reporting of D&T results and performance against our critical goals, focusing on drivers-based analysis to identify insights and trends
  • Drive data analytics to discover useful information which can help the organization make informed decisions
  • Benchmark internal and external best practices to identify and implement continuous process improvement/effectiveness initiatives
  • Partner with U.S. Sales teams to deliver the annual operating plan and monthly operational forecasts by leveraging Integrated Business Planning - a monthly planning process that extends the entire value chain of a business

Education:

Experience:

  • Previous experience in CPG industry a plus

Basic Objective

Serve as the strategic finance partner for the Retail Channel with a focus on Lowe's and Other Key Retail Accounts (e.g. Menards, Ace), and Amazon. This includes performing financial analysis, communicating financial insights and recommending actions to increase revenue and improve profitability while driving strong partnerships within this cross-functional team.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Lead Financial Management and Planning for Key Retail Accounts
  • Provide comprehensive financial support and analysis for Lowe's and other key retail partners, owning the full P&L for the channel.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and planning.
  • Play a pivotal role in developing the financial plan for the retail channel, ensuring it is both credible and aspirational serving as a foundation for business improvement and strategic decision-making
Support Strategic Growth Initiatives
  • Conduct proforma analyses to support the division's strategic growth objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations for customer line reviews, aisle resets and expansions, promotional strategies, and new customer onboarding.
Partner on Customer Programs and Negotiations
  • Deliver financial expertise for customer-specific programs and negotiations, including rebates, collect programs, defective allowances, merchandising support, and media initiatives.
  • Manage customer programming with accuracy and accountability, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies through proactive collaboration with Sales and Credit teams. Drive process efficiency and maintain strong customer relationships by upholding financial commitments and swiftly addressing issues as they arise.
Prepare and Publish Financial Reporting Materials
  • Oversee the preparation and timely distribution of key financial documents, including monthly financial statements, annual financial plans, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and forecast packets.
  • Provide detailed reporting on operating expenses and market performance as needed.
Contribute to Team Projects and Ad Hoc Analysis
  • Support additional responsibilities within the Retail Channel Finance team, including special projects and ad hoc analyses assigned by the Finance Manager.

Device Management
