Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst provides credible, reliable, consistent, standardized, and integrated financial consultative services for Markets and Integrated Centers of Clinical Excellence (ICCE) and/or Functional Areas. The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Financial Integrity & Analysis under MUSC Health Corporate System Finance. Under limited supervision, the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst.

This position is an expert in evaluating and resolving complex financial issues and demonstrates strong analytical and financial skills to maximize financial operations.

The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic financial resource for the Director of Financial Integrity & Analysis.

Prepares and compiles all financial requests including preforms, return on investment calculations, financial modeling and financial data requests in conjunction with System Finance teams. Serves as the subject matter expert in financial operations supporting decision making, financial strategy, performance improvement, and other key financial goals through valid, relevant, and quality decision support reports, dashboards, and analyses.

Takes a lead role in financial analysis; participates in team and project meetings; and provides input on intelligent solutions to improve efficiency and financial position of the Markets and ICCE and/or Functional Areas.

Master's degree and three (3) years of experience in a position of significant financial and operational responsibility and data analysis required. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Accounting or related field with five (5) years directly related experience.

Proven ability to research, gather, synthesize and organize information to produce concise reports using various resources.

Must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets and have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complicated policies and procedures and financial information to a wide variety of audiences.

Must be able to demonstrate expert skills in identifying key stakeholders, acquiring and preparing financial data, selecting and applying analytic tools, and producing actionable results.

Academic Medical Center (AMC) Healthcare experience preferred. Solid understanding of data mining techniques, emerging techniques and a proactive approach.

Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion based on the original goals with minimal supervision.

Position Summary:

Novant Health is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team in Charleston, SC. This key role will support the CFO in the development of financial proformas for physician employment opportunities and other strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Due Diligence Support:
    Collect, analyze, and interpret financial documents during the due diligence phase of physician employment transactions. This includes reviewing profit and loss statements, billing reports, real estate and equipment leases, managed care contracts, on-call agreements, medical directorships, and other legal documents.
  • Proforma Development:
    Prepare five-year financial proformas for physician employment agreements. This includes creating detailed narratives that summarize all assumptions and provide an overview of the current financial structure of the physician practice being evaluated.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Collaborate with physicians, office managers, accountants, and third-party consultants to gather necessary information and clarify questions related to the due diligence process.
  • Presentations & Reporting:
    Present final proforma results to physicians and other stakeholders considering employment. Provide clear and concise explanations of financial models and assumptions used in the projections.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting:
    Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts and the annual budget/business plan at the physician practice level. Ensure alignment of financial plans with strategic goals and operational realities.
  • Benchmarking & Analysis:
    Produce and analyze monthly benchmarking reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics for physician practices. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Recommend process improvements based on insights from financial data. Support ongoing efforts to streamline reporting and data analysis processes.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Preferred:
    • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
  • Required:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, practices, and procedures.

Brock & Scott, PLLC is seeking an individual with strong business and process analysis skills to collaborate with internal teams of business and IT professionals who plan, build, implement, and optimize innovative solutions for a professional legal services firm.

Key attributes include excellent communication skills, teamwork, initiative, flexibility, and an ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects. Primary tasks include defining business and application system requirements, defining as-is' and to-be' business processes, building and maintaining documentation for new or existing solutions, and building an in-depth knowledge of the firm's services and practices.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with team members: document requirements, define project scope and objectives, and formulate solutions consistent with our overall business strategies.
  • Elicits and documents business processes and requirements using interviews, document analysis, team meetings, requirement workshops, use cases, and task and workflow analysis.
  • Assists with the definition, implementation, and enforcement of company-wide methodologies and practices.
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, distills high-level information into its highest level of details, and distinguishes/transforms user requests to solutions that address the underlying true business needs.
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements to deliver methodology and project artifacts as needed: (functional requirements, use cases, proposed user interface designs, test scenarios, etc.)
  • Understands and applies key process re-engineering/process improvement principles to enhance the value of technology-driven change.
  • Drives and/or participates in application testing activities.
  • Works independently with staff to define evaluate, refine, and develop concepts into meaningful, executable projects/solutions.
  • Pursues primary projects under the direction of the Senior Business Analyst and CTO.
  • Serves as a liaison between attorneys, executives, staff, and technical team members.
  • Responsible for eliciting (and anticipating) the actual needs of stakeholders and working to facilitate communication among individuals and organizational units, serving as a 'translator' in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology
Position Requirements

Education and Additional Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in an operations or analyst role with a financial services firm, law firm, consulting firm or relevant related work experience
  • BS or BA or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with reporting and relational database concepts (SQL)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of attorneys, executives, managers, staff, and subject matter experts
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and entrepreneurial approach to complex technical challenges
  • Ability to work in a self-directed capacity on assigned projects and strategic R&D initiatives
  • Willingness to mentor team members and to be mentored by others
  • Desire to learn proprietary systems and administrative processes
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to owning and resolving problems
  • Eligible work locations are any Brock & Scott office or Remote.
  • Experience in JIRA is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Delivery: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that drive business value.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required. Computer Science, Business or related degree preferred.

• 0-2 years professional experience required.

• Mastery of Microsoft Office products including Word and PowerPoint.

• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage project life cycles by contributing to planning, execution, and evaluation phases, while adhering to established timelines and quality standards.

• Must be highly motivated, reliable self-starter and can be counted on to complete assignments with minimal oversight.

• Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.

• Must have good time management skills and ability to multi-task, able to adapt to new requirements and readjust as needed to complete an assignment.

Preferred Key Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with technical consulting services, information technology or in a similar industry.

• Experience with Agile framework - Certified Scrum Master or SAFe Agile framework certification is preferred.

• Experience with data analysis using tools such as SQL and MS Excel.
