Platform and Core FP&A supports the infrastructure and core teams that power every Coinbase product, including Cloud, Security, and Developer Productivity. *What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):*
* Support the development of the annual budget and ongoing forecasting processes, including variance analysis and trend identification.
* Review month-end close activities in collaboration with the Accounting team and be a subject matter expert for the Security team.
* Create business review materials and lead presentations with functional leadership.
* Develop tools and resources to drive insights related to budget allocation, attribution analysis and financial reporting which will guide decision making.

The Financial Analyst will provide financial and analytical support to Senior Financial Management, Group FMS Managers, and FMS Managers.
**Essential Functions**
+ Month-End Closing: To include journal entries as necessary to re-class revenue / expenses; explanations of variances vs. forecast / annual plan; general ledger research to ensure all possible billing opportunities are captured

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required

Experience:

• Five (5) years of cost accounting and analytics experience required
• Analytical experience in a manufacturing, food or consumer packaged goods environment, strongly preferred
• Experience working with and/or creating meaningful operational reports and guiding operations members on how to understand and use financial data
• Leadership experience is a plus

*Team / Role:*
Consumer & Marketing FP&A is a key function to support the revenue-generating consumer product group as well as the marketing expenses that drive revenue and brand perception at Coinbase. The team provides forecasting and variance analysis for all revenue and expense lines for the product groups, support with ad-hoc analysis to inform business decisions, conduct deep dives into important focus areas for the financial health of the business where needed. This role will be the main day-to-day FP&A partner for our marketing and communications organization who are crafting and communicating compelling stories that highlight product launches and lead comprehensive global marketing efforts, including PR, brand, performance marketing, and engagement strategies. The Principal Financial Analyst is responsible for providing leadership on financial analysis and reporting related to the profitability of various Prime business areas or units. The **Program Financial Analyst I** supports service delivery and completes work activities with direct supervision. They assist in the planning, tracking, and reporting of performance on well-defined and specific tasks under a contract. They will interact with the Contract Program Manager, Project Manager(s), and take direction from either a Mid or Sr Financial Analyst (this alignment depends on what they are specifically supporting - TDL/project level or contract).
