Acutraner Transformer is a leading U.S. supplier of custom medium voltage dry type transformers and other power generation equipment, systems and services to utilities and industrial markets in the U.S. and overseas.

We are actively seeking an Application Engineering Intern to join our team.

This position is responsible for supporting customer projects in the development of dry type transformers. The successful candidate will be able to produce technically accurate designs within schedule and budget requirements.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Support design functions of transformer components for every job assigned.
• Create bill of materials required for advance purchase orders.
• Prepares core and coil manufacturing drawings.
• Coordinate with colleagues responsible of Mechanical Design Procurement, manufacturing and Sales.
• Responsible for preparing quote designs per customer specifications.
• Prepare internal design documentation to other design areas (Mechanical design, control) as well as test requirements.
• Skilled to perform designs of complex transformers.
• Participate in design review meetings with customer / consultants.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Business or Science field.
• Proficiency in use of Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Creative thinker. Strong analytical skills, detail oriented.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with attention to details.

Xylem Services USA LLC's Pittsburgh, PA, office seeks a Sr. Application Engineer (Engineer-III). This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States that will be responsible for: (i) studying the BID specification and inlet/outlet parameters; (ii) preparing engineering process unit sizing related calculations and developing design basis and design criteria and standard calculation excel sheets; (iii) preparing engineering related calculations like hydraulic, mass balance, head loss, pump head etc. through excel files; (iv) preparing conceptual designs, detailed engineering designs, reports, studies, calculations, and develop drawings and visual aids; (v) preparing design PDF/PID drawings, plans, sections, layout details, and profiles/sections coordinating with design engineer; (vi) designing pharma, lab, healthcare, boiler feed process water treatment schemes; and (vii) designing various unit operation process like ACF, MMF, UF, RO, CEDI, MB, Softener, UV and various filters, etc. for process water applications.

Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in a related position.

Experience must include four (4) years working with: (i) process engineering and/or understanding of water treatment technologies; (ii) researching and developing engineering strategies; (iii) independently designing engineered solutions for industrial water treatment projects (iv) developing cost effective designs using commercial off the shelf components; (v) proposal writing and professional written customer communications; and (vi) coordinating workflow between multiple stakeholders, gather design input, and organize project execution planning that aligns with organizational capabilities and construction best practices.

This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States, but must be able to work in the Pittsburgh office two (2) days per week.

Experience can be concurrent.

Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Must be able to climb and descend stairs and bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basic. Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors as needed, with exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.

Must be willing to travel both domestic and international to various locations to provide technical support up to 25%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide Steam & Combustion Solution proposals and projects support to customers to help mitigate existing customer issues while maximizing ECI's diverse portfolio of products and services
• Offer technical recommendations focused on efficiency improvement, energy savings and improved reliability to our customers resulting in product pull-through and service engagements
• Optimize steam and condensate systems to improve reliability, safety and efficiency
• Support the field engineers with engineering and proposal support
• Support engineering requirements for energy and efficiency audits on steam and combustion systems
• Provide cradle to grave project support and management of steam and combustion systems projects
• Provide subject matter expertise in the industrial steam market to support our front-line sales team
• Support the delivery of positive customer outcomes through the unified ECI quoting process

• Will possess a four-year engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
• Will have working knowledge of P&IDs, controls, valves and instrumentation
• Will demonstrate an understanding of the technical and business challenges faced by this market and proven ability to develop and deliver solutions
• Will possess strong presentation, consultative selling, interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be a team player and work closely with Steam and Combustion Solutions Team and representatives from other business units
• Must understand steam and combustion systems, control systems and instrumentation
