We are looking for exceptional Art Educators who like to work in a small team environment. The position will entail teaching (25+ hours a week) plus hiring and training part-time teachers and helping to run the school and gallery space.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Director of Education is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of student experiences at One River School. We have developed a system that blends a fun interactive social dynamic, with an innovative method that focuses on contemporary art education. The Assistant Director of Education leads the effort by working closely with a staff of instructors to make sure the culture of the school is on brand and the quality of the outcomes are truly dynamic.

Position Highlights:
  • Teach 25+ hours of weekly classes in digital art, drawing, painting and mixed media for adults, kids and teens
  • Track project results and document student success / student artwork
  • Establish art studio management systems that ensure that each class runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Manage art supply ordering, organization and inventory to ensure each classes has the necessary items within the appropriate budget
  • Maintain the digital lab with the latest software, hardware and educational tools
  • Track and report out on expenses related to wages and art supplies
  • Share key metrics across student retention, attendance, makeups and student satisfaction
  • Meet with and enroll new student prospects and ensure student and parent satisfaction
  • Develop new strategies to prolong retention of students
  • Develop one to one relationships with the student body and the parents
  • Assist in creating and implementing local marketing strategies including events, school partnerships, outreach and other awareness tactics
  • Create strategies to enhance the experience for all students and to resolve issues
  • Identify and partner with local organizations to exhibit student artwork and promote our brand

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience teaching art classes for kids, teens or adults
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited, four year college or university required - MFA or Masters in Art Education is preferred
  • Majors in Fine Art or Art Education required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to network, collaborate and build relationships with clients, partners, staff, remote colleagues and others.

Brief Description Of Duties The Department of Art and Art History at San José State University is actively seeking part-time faculty members for the studio/seminar lecturer position. The selected individuals will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in studio art and theories of art education to students in the BA Art—Preparation for Teaching major, as well as to others interested in art education. Course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement should address the diverse needs of our student population, which includes varying ages, cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, primary languages, and academic preparation levels. In addition to teaching, department lecturers are expected to participate in 1-2 faculty meetings per semester and provide assessment data and information to the department. The on-site supervisor of single subject credential candidates in Art travels to school sites where each student teacher has been placed, ordinarily in Santa Clara or Santa Cruz counties. The supervisor will also be available for seminars and overview sessions held on the SJSU campus. Specific responsibilities include: 1) attend CalTPA (California Teaching Performance Assessment) overview session; 2) participate in 2 supervisors’ meetings each semester; 3) observe and submit observation reports for each student teacher/intern a minimum of 6 times per semester; 4) guide student teachers regarding the timing of their CalTPA teaching events; 5) mediate and facilitate communication between student teachers and mentor teachers, including procedures to be followed regarding improvement plans and dismissal from placement; 6) submit Formative and Summative Evaluations to Subject Area Advisor; 9) attend supervisor/mentor teacher trainings or professional development workshops offered through the Single Subject Credential Program. Mileage costs for travel to the school sites are reimbursed by the Department of Teacher Education. Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a student population of great diversity–including age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation–through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement. Faculty shall organize all their classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester or term, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (i.e., asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in-person, or hybrid). Required Qualifications Master of Arts degree in Art Education or equivalent degree. A lecturer in Art Education must hold or be qualified to hold a California Single Subject Credential in Art. At least two years teaching art in K-12 public schools. The Art Education studio/seminar course instructor must have a demonstrated ability to teach all levels of Art Education classes to art education undergraduates and other students. The position(s) require thorough knowledge of single subject credentialing requirements for elementary and secondary art teachers in the state of California. Strong working knowledge of the California Arts Standards for Public Schools, Prekindergarten Through Grade Twelve (2019 ) and the California Arts Education Framework for Public Schools Transitional kindergarten Through Grade Twelve (2020) application to the development of curriculum. Knowledge of the theoretical and practical constraints and possibilities of classroom teaching. The successful candidate(s) will have command of image making and visual exploration using traditional and digital media arts as well as a demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues in a multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary environment. + Monitors, documents and shares the child's progress with the family, Coordinator, Infant Service Coordinator and immediate supervisor. Communicates and collaborates effectively with families and all professionals verbally and in writing.
+ Assists families, Infant Service Coordinators and SELPA/Districts with program transitions at child's 3rd birthday. Attends SELPA planning meetings and IEPs, bi-monthly staff meetings and actively participates in additional professional development opportunities.

Crimson Global Academy USA, is an accredited US private online high school and we're looking for qualified, passionate, and inspiring subject teachers who are looking to transform the future of Education. You'll get to be a part of a team of highly experienced teachers conduct lessons in small, engaging virtual classrooms. Our students are ambitious, studying with us part-time (in addition to their traditional school) or full-time (as their sole education provider). Many of our students are aiming to attend top universities in the US and UK.

We're looking for passionate teachers who can teach from beginner to advanced level across the AP/US Diploma Curricula.

Teaching Schedule (PST):

    • Tue/Thu: 4:00 PM, 7:00 PM (AP 2D Art & Design)

    Note: Schedule includes evening and late-night classes to accommodate students in different time zones.

Classes are 2 hours each, plus 1 hour weekly office hours.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver personalized, high-quality instruction, adapting to each student's unique learning needs.

  • Utilize diverse teaching strategies and digital tools to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

  • Assess student progress, provide targeted feedback, and adjust teaching methods to ensure optimal learning outcomes.

  • Plan and execute clear course schedules, detailing session content and assessment timelines.

  • Conduct professional, interactive live sessions, leveraging online learning resources to enhance the educational experience.

  • Set relevant homework, design and administer assessments, and provide constructive feedback to encourage student growth.

  • Develop educational materials, including tests and exams, contributing to CGA’s rich resource library.

  • Efficiently manage your online classroom on Canvas, keeping it organized with assignments and assessments for easy student access.

Requirements :

  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a school setting (please note, while valuable, we are unable to count tutoring experience towards this requirement).

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in the subject area you will be teaching.

  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and the CGA team.

  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms and a passion for innovative education methods.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the AP/US Diploma Curricula.
