To lead this effort, we're hiring a Chief AI Officer to oversee strategy, delivery, and capability building across the business. This is a brand-new role created to deliver real enterprise transformation, designed to bridge the gap between data leadership, technology teams, and the CIO.

You will define, champion and operationalise the organisation’s approach to artificial intelligence, while ensuring alignment with both commercial goals and rigorous governance. The brief is broad: from shaping vision and roadmap, to building and leading cross-functional AI teams, to working with senior stakeholders on use cases and adoption.

It is an opportunity to take real ownership of AI strategy in a business with significant ambition, budget, and executive support.

  • Salary Bracket: $2 0,000–$3 5,000 base plus mega performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package
  • Location: Remote-based with a new tech hub in San Francisco Bay, California. Corporate hubs in Dallas and New York.
  • Career Outlook: Board-level visibility, the chance to establish the AI function from scratch, and a long-term path to be a globally recognised CAIO.

Role Overview:

  • Define and lead the organisation’s AI strategy, balancing commercial impact, operational delivery, and risk management
  • Build, manage, and develop a multi-disciplinary AI Innovation Team, covering engineering, data science, product and governance
  • Bridge the gap between CIO-level priorities, enterprise architecture, and data/analytics leadership, ensuring a cohesive approach to AI transformation
  • Partner with product, technology and business leaders to identify, validate and deliver high-value AI use cases
  • Champion responsible AI practices, data ethics, and robust governance frameworks to manage enterprise risk
  • Guide technology investment decisions in AI platforms, tooling, LLM integrations and infrastructure

Key Skills and Knowledge Desired:

  • Strategic AI Leadership: Proven experience defining and executing GenAI strategies
  • AI and ML: Understanding of the AI/ML landscape, including LLMs, MLOps, agentic frameworks, and orchestration tools
  • Data Foundations: Strong knowledge of modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and data integration strategies
  • Cloud-Native Mindset: Familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP, including their AI/ML services (SageMaker, Vertex AI, AzureML)
  • LLM Tooling and APIs: Understanding of OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, Mistral, and practical experience integrating LLMs into enterprise products
  • Governance and Risk Management: Expertise in data ethics, responsible AI, regulatory compliance and information security
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate technical opportunities into clear business cases with measurable ROI
  • Stakeholder Management: Credibility and influence at C-suite and board level, with strong communication skills

What You’ll Be Doing:

You will have the mandate and backing to recruit top talent, shape technology choices, and ensure that AI strategy is both ambitious and grounded. You will work closely with the CIO and CTO to align AI adoption with wider technology modernisation efforts, helping the business become genuinely data-driven while managing risk and regulatory expectations.

This is a rare opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up, in an environment that values innovation, accountability, and long-term thinking.

Believe the hype!
