**What you'll do:**
As an **Assembly Supervisor** , your key responsibilities will include:
+ Developing and leading a team of 60-80 people to achieve operational, quality, and continuous improvement goals through training, coaching, discipline, and effective communication
+ Championing the use of continuous improvement tools to reduce downtime, improve quality, reduce scrap, and meet labor efficiency targets
+ Implementing product and engineering changes effectively and efficiently
+ Modeling and promoting adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies and initiatives
+ Prioritizing safety when assigning work to team members

+ Fostering a positive working relationship with union representatives by adhering to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
**Minimum Qualifications:**

Based in our **Mansfield, MA** location, as an **Assembly Supervisor** you will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of our union hourly Valve Assembly Department. You will be accountable for managing the day-to-day operations to maximize production while improving our safe workplace, reducing costs, improving quality, and meeting customer requirements.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Promote the Safety culture as our number one priority. Establish safe and productive work environment through positive reinforcement of safety policies, hazard identifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Be involved in our Safety audits and committees as well as 5s activities.
+ Develop the daily work schedule and assign employees to areas of the department based on workload.
+ Ensure all documentation is clear and legible i.e., test reports, paint reports, etc.
+ Ensure closing-out of operational steps on routings.
+ Maintain and evaluate employee training/maintain employee qualifications. Identify training gaps or additional qualifications needed.
+ Develop standard methodologies and detail new and tribal knowledge.
+ Areas of direct responsibility- Nuclear VA (valve assembly), Navy VA, Large VA, sand blast, and paint and steam testing.
+ Follow and abide by our Union agreement contract and support/communicate with all supervisors for consistent messaging.
+ Assist in making equipment and staffing decisions to support long-term business levels.
+ Periodically evaluate group and individual performance through both formal and informal reviews.
+ Support cross training for all team members based on business needs.
+ Lead problem solving activities of any issue related to Valve assembly and supporting departments.

+ Lead a team consisting of up to 100 operators with the support of a production leader
+ Fierce advocate and enforcer of safety protocol and policy. Up to date on latest policy and procedures and able to swiftly implement policy changes.
+ Initiate and lead improvements in safety, cost, quality and productivity that impact the Assembly Department and internal & external partners.
+ Lead and direct technicians and work teams, and serve as a coordinator between cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Quality, Materials, Engineering and Operations.
+ Create an environment of development and evolution for subordinate leaders. Manage the growth plan for Production and group Leaders, groom team members for succession.
+ Apply critical thinking and root cause analysis tools and prescribed documentation methods to identify defects, develop countermeasures, and solve problems.
+ Excellent communication skills to provide key and timely operations information to all levels of the organization to assure fluid operations from shift to shift.
+ Continue fostering team development and utilization of Lean manufacturing or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and thinking into daily routines to eliminate issues and inefficiencies in the Finishing Area.

**Minimum requirements**
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ 5+ years of Manufacturing Leadership experience
**Preferred skills and experiences**
+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business or Engineering
+ 5+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience with a strong knowledge of manufacturing assembly operations desired and ability to learn company philosophy, division policies and procedures.
+ Working knowledge of plant manufacturing operations, processes and production flow
+ Knowledge of Kronos, SAP, Google applications, etc
+ Highly motivated, with excellent organizational skills and leadership behaviors.
+ Good communication skills, verbal and written are essential.
+ Ability to read, write, make oral presentations and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization.
+ WCM (World Class Manufacturing) experience, focus on SAF/WO/AM/QCRSRWH

As a member of the operations team the production supervisor is responsible for leading all aspects of the manufacturing process of customized products according to customer specifications and quality standards. The production supervisor coordinates within production and production planning, to ensure timely and efficient production. The production supervisor also manages the staff, equipment, and inventory of the production floor!

+ Plan, schedule, and monitor the production of engineers to order products based on customer orders and deadlines.
+ Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of production staff, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity policies and procedures.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that arise during the production process, communicating with the engineering, sales, and purchasing departments as needed.
+ Ensure that the production equipment and tools are properly maintained and calibrated and report any malfunctions or defects to the maintenance department.
+ Effectively manage a workforce to accomplish daily, monthly, and annual targets
+ Maintain workflow by monitoring process and eliminating bottlenecks.
+ Continuous improvement using Lean techniques and digitalization.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve process and product.
+ Maintain great employee relations by providing feedback, coaching, training, and development.
+ Develop strong team through training and development.
+ Ensure that the production floor is clean, organized, and safe, and adhere to the environmental and health standards and regulations.
**What You Bring**
+ Bachelor's or associate degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent (High School Diploma/GED)
+ Minimum of 3- 5 years' experience as Production Supervisor or similar role
+ Excellent Interpersonal Skills
+ Proven track record to manage a team and drive results.
