Senior Automation Architect

**About the Role:**
As an Automation Engineer (AE), you will support the site maintenance team to ensure operational performance and efficiency of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) control systems. You will partner with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print-and-apply labeling systems, scales, HMI systems, control cabinets, and more. **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Promoting a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
+ Providing guidance on maintaining material handling control systems, industrial motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems
+ Using your technical expertise to provide support with troubleshooting and modifying software projects for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC platform utilizing Rockwell's software package, industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
+ Acting as the first level of escalation support for equipment automation issues and appropriately escalating downtime situations to vendors and/or network support teams to restore equipment operation.
+ Applying subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize building utilization of systems
+ Monitoring MHE metrics and partnering with mechatronics technicians to resolve equipment electrical problems that create performance deficiencies, and performing control systems assessments to maintain and improve equipment reliability
+ Partnering with facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations, acting as the technical consultant for capital projects inside the building
+ Communicating technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations, and the maintenance team, explaining production impacts and working closely with operations and engineering to ensure a thorough understanding of impact to systems
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ 3+ years of cumulative work experience in the following areas, or a relevant 2-year degree plus 1 year of work experience in the following areas:
+ Programming/commissioning of HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs
+ SCADA systems and KPIs
+ Interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical drawings
+ Supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems
+ Equipment control components such as relays, motor starters, VFDs, HMIs, etc.

Senior Test Automation Engineer (aka Quality Assurance) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts): Will join a team testing Financial Services applications developed in Java and web-based applications. Will develop new tests and support existing regressions tests on keyword based UFT framework. Must have hands-on experience writing VB Script code, not simply running tests. In addition to the UFT scripts, must have hands-on experience writing code for Java/Selenium projects. Must have excellent communication skills and must be comfortable working with developers and analysts. Will coordinate with development/ manual QA team and will be responsible for writing test cases, building our automated testing tools and scripts, working with a remote QA team, helping support our QA environment, and executing various levels of testing of the products. Full time telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field; plus 7 years of software testing experience. Alternatively, Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field; plus 5 years of software testing experience.

As a proactive team member, working varying shifts, the Automation Technician I is responsible for performing and managing plant maintenance programs under the direction of the Plant Manager. Maintenance activities must ensure that employee's health and safety, product safety, and the protection of the environment are never compromised, and that all maintenance activities enhance product quality, plant performance and business priorities. About the Role:
Maintain plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal working condition while driving continuous improvements aligned with operational priorities.
Perform timely and effective root cause analysis to resolve equipment failures, enhancing efficiency, quality, and overall reliability.
Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues across a range of plant equipment, including conveyors, pallet handling systems, and other manufacturing machinery.
Key Responsibilities may include:
- Perform proactive and reactive maintenance activities with a multi-skilled approach, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety protocols at all times.
- Support the site's reliability initiatives by identifying failure modes, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to improve equipment performance.
- Assist in scheduling and executing maintenance tasks, ensuring proper documentation of work orders and tasks to maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve maintenance processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and contributing to overall plant performance.

Experience - What you will bring

- 3-5 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance.
- Ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
- Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical system components such as motors, variable AC drives, PLCs, and field sensors.
- Preventative and corrective Maintenance on conveyance equipment .
- Ability to climb steps over conveyor system, work in tight spaces as well as at heights.
- Ability to use and navigate MS office and internet applications.
