Adjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that meets the needs of students and employers and promote student success.

Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Learning Facilitation - Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement. Create learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success, such as hybrid, in-person, virtual, and on-line course delivery.

Assessment - Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful. Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and learning and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.

Classroom Management - Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation.

Team Participation - Support the college by engaging with the division, department, and team members, as well as staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.

Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners. Proactively promote the College and our programs.

Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful.

Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices and teaching through professional development activities, networking with regional industry leaders, and the integration of new techniques and technology. Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Requirements:
  • Associate degree or above in related and appropriate field, AND
  • Minimum of four years of occupational experience in the field of the program or programs being taught, of which at least one year shall be within the last five years. (One year of related occupational experience may be waived with at least two years of post−secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the last five years).
  • Recent new-model, broad-based automotive collision repair experience preferred.
  • Teaching or training experience is desirable.
  • Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of, and throughout employment as an instructor.
  • Meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements.
  • Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job specific licensing standards.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
  • ASE, I-CAR, or OEM credentials required within first year of hire.
  • Air Conditioning Certification preferred. AC Cert. is required to teach classes that involve the use of AC equipment.
  • Proficiency utilizing learning management system.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances to meet student needs.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with various audiences.
  • Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by embracing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.

Physical Requirements
  • Mobility: While much of the work may be stationary, mobility may be necessary for attending meetings, facility tours, teaching in lab, or other events.
  • Lifting and Carrying: The role requires occasional/continuous lifting and carrying of light to moderate items (50 pounds).
  • Climbing: Capability to climb stairs or ladders and to safely move in and around vehicles in the lab.

Additional Information

Job Summary

The Refugee Vocational Training Program Outreach /Intake Specialist implements outreach, recruitment, and participant screening for the BCTC Global Learning's Refugee Vocational Training Program, a grant funded effort by the Kentucky Office of Refugee. This position ensures that eligible participants are identified, assessed, and enrolled in accordance with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) guidelines. The Navigator conducts initial testing, develops preliminary career plans, and connects participants to supplemental educational and training resources such as English as a Second Language (ESL), computer literacy, and career exploration courses. The Navigator also facilitates referrals to social services, establishes clear lines of communication between participants, BCTC RVT Program staff, and Kentucky Refugee Ministries case managers, and transitions participants to the RVTP Job Developer for ongoing career coaching and case management.

This is a grant funded position

Job Duties:
  • Conducts targeted outreach and recruitment activities to engage eligible refugees in collaboration with community partners and campus departments.
  • Screens participants for program eligibility, conducts initial assessments and testing, and completes the intake process per ORR guidelines and documentation standards.
  • Develops preliminary Individual Career Plans (ICPs) to support enrollment in appropriate academic, technical, or workforce programs.
  • Provides referrals to social service agencies and supplemental education or training opportunities, including ESL, computer literacy, and career exploration courses.
  • Establishes and maintains open communication between participants, BCTC RVT Program staff, and Kentucky Refugee Ministries case managers.
  • Coordinates the smooth handoff of enrolled participants to the Job Developer for ongoing career coaching and case management.
  • Maintains accurate enrollment and intake records, ensuring compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Supports programmatic outreach efforts on campus and with external grant partners serving refugees.
  • Attend Global Learning meetings and events and provide updates on the program's status, challenges, and accomplishments.
  • Work in collaboration with the RVTP Program Manager and Navigator to support program outcomes and goals.
  • Stay updated on grant policies and BCTC regulations to ensure program compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related fields (Education, Higher Education, Social Work, etc).
  • 2 years related experience working with populations with economic and resource challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience
  • Strong Language Skills in an additional language other than English and/or experience working with interpreting services
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

This individual will be responsible for the preparation of lesson plans for classroom and hands-on lab instruction. This position requires hours of instruction on Friday between 6:00 – 8:30 pm and Saturday between 8:00 am – 1:30 pm ONLY. This position is part-time/exempt.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
  • Teach automotive courses on a variety of topics including electronic/hybrid vehicle repair.
  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses.

  • ASE Certification in the following areas: Steering and suspension (A4), brakes (A5) and electrical (A6) along with other appropriate professional credentials/certifications (G1 certifications) for or related to the field of automotive technology.

  • Master ASE Certification
  • ASE Light duty hybrid/electric vehicle (L3) certification
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ college-level teaching experience; including online, lecture, hybrid, and web-enhanced

Position Summary
With almost 1,200 undergraduate students, the Department of Mechanical Engineering is the third largest major at Colorado State University. In support of this growth, the Department invites applications for two Non-Tenure Track Faculty ( NTTF ) members to teach Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Curriculum with particular need for CIVE 261: Engineering Mechanics - Dynamics, MECH 324: Dynamics of Machines, MECH 424: Advanced Dynamics, and MECH 425: Vibrations instructors.
The individual selected will be assigned one of six NTTF working titles based on education and experience. Specifically, a selected individual who has an MS will have a working title of Instructor, Senior Instructor, or Master Instructor; a selected individual who has a PhD will have a working title of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Within these two working titles (Instructor or Professor), selected individuals who have > 5 years of experience will have a working title of Senior Instructor or Associate Professor; selected persons who have > 10 years of experience will have a working title of Master Instructor or (Full) Professor.
This position supports the educational mission of the Department and its commitment to provide high-quality educational opportunities. The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Department Head on a continuing contract, pending successful performance and available funding. The Instructor / Professor may be given responsibility for one or more undergraduate laboratories; responsible for the quality, efficacy and learning outcomes of experiments, and modification and change consistent with the Department's goals. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Professional diploma preferred
  • 4 years or more in Combination of classroom training and work experience
  • NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
  • State driver's license as required

  • Brake mechanics/inspectors FMCS 396.25
  • Hydraulic Brake (BH220&BH298) where appropriate within 90 Days
  • Tire & Wheel TW220 within 90 Days
  • CF609 & A/C trained and qualified (AC220&AC298) within 180 Days
  • Battery Charge and Check, Warranty
  • HD electrical - DR208 within 90 Days
  • Svc Island Support SBTIII trained (SBT220) and SBT Phase 2 within 180 Days
  • OEM on-line engine courses (minimum 2)
  • Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex diagnosis, repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance for non-contractual customers.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance including, but not limited to, tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, fuel filter changes, fluid checks, alignments, basic suspension replacement and light and mirror replacements.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair or replace engines including but not limited to alternators, starts, radiators, and injectors, transmissions and other fuel components.
  • Hydraulic brake inspections, repairs, and replacements.
  • May operate out of mobile maintenance vehicle and travel to customer yards within assigned region.
  • Possess general knowledge and understanding of the Torque products and services.
  • Represent Torque/Ryder to establish a relationship with the customer.
  • Utilize key functions of Salesforce and electronic documentation available. Ensure proper documentation of work orders, customer repair authorizations, and repair notes are within Salesforce.
  • Perform environmental duties such as site inspections, site clean-ups/disposals, vehicle chemicals with some guidance and direction.
  • Work in accordance with all federal/regional and corporate compliance guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
