The Leidos National Security Sector (NSS) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Behavioral Scientist that will support Information Operations Environment (IOE) initiatives by applying behavioral science principles to influence target audiences, optimize communication strategies, and assess the effectiveness of IOE activities. This position directly supports the **APOLLO Program** (formerly known as **OPIAS - Operational Planning, Implementation, and Assessment Services** ), a key initiative focused on integrating information-related capabilities across the defense enterprise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral science, psychology, or a related field, with experience in developing, implementing, and assessing influence strategies in a defense or intelligence context.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct behavioral analysis of target audiences to identify psychological, cultural, and social factors influencing behavior.
+ Design and implement influence strategies, including message development, narrative crafting, and media selection.
+ Collaborate with IOE planners, PSYOP, and MISO teams to integrate behavioral science insights into operational planning.
+ Conduct post-operation assessments to measure the effectiveness of influence activities and refine approaches.
+ Develop metrics and analytical tools to evaluate the impact of influence strategies on target audiences.
+ Provide subject matter expertise in cognitive and behavioral sciences for IOE planning and execution.
+ Present research findings and analysis to senior leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree and 6+ years of experience; a degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field (PhD preferred); four (4) additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
+ Familiarity with cognitive modeling, cultural analysis, and psychological profiling.
+ Experience in social media analysis, digital marketing, or online influence campaigns.
+ 3+ years of experience in behavioral analysis, influence operations, or a related field, preferably within a defense or intelligence environment.
+ Experience designing, implementing, and assessing influence or persuasion strategies.
+ Strong analytical skills, with experience using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
+ Active TS/SCI security clearance.
+ Experience supporting U.S. military or intelligence community operations.

Reporting to the Director, Nudge Unit, Behavioral Insights & Strategic Research, the Senior Behavioral Scientist will support applying behavioral insights to enhance decisions, experiences, and health outcomes for BCBSMA’s members, providers, and staff. The Department of Social Science is a multidisciplinary department offering a bachelor's degree program in Data Analytics for Economics, academic minors in Psychology, History and Environmental Studies and courses in sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, geography, government, history and philosophy. Environmental Social Sciences at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability is a new and rapidly growing department. The mission of the department is to shed light on the causes of humanity's sustainability challenges, to design and evaluate potential business strategies, public policies, and behavioral interventions to meet these challenges, and to educate future scholars and leaders who will further our vision of understanding and solving these challenges.
We are seeking a full-time Social Science Researcher 1 (SSRP1) with an interest in Global Sustainability using economics to help address climate change and make better environmental policy. The SSRP1 will work with Professor Shanjun Li and other researchers on topics related to global sustainability challenges, including renewable energy development, transportation electrification, environmental regulations, and the interaction of trade with these issues. The research scholar will take a leadership role in Pascal Geldsetzer's research group, which is a "dry lab" focused on quantitative analyses of existing, and often publicly accessible, datasets. The group is currently focused on studying the causal effect of shingles vaccination on cognition ( In extensions of this work, the group is also interested in the effect of other vaccinations given in old age on dementia as well as the effect of infections on dementia. Key data sources for our projects are electronic health record data, epidemiological cohort studies, mortality data, and other large health-related administrative datasets. The researcher will be expected to publish in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
We are in particular looking for individuals with in-depth experience in econometric/quasi-experimental approaches for causal effect estimation (e.g., regression discontinuity and difference-in-differences). We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible but there is no specific deadline for the application - we hire on an ongoing basis.
The initial appointment will be 1-year fixed term. The fixed-term may be renewed for additional years based on business needs.
