WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal candidate for this position is familiar with the HVAC (Heating/Cooling) industry with strong experience in related product standards and laboratory test environment. testing. The candidate must be well organized and able to maintain a full list of technical documentation from test reports and related product literature. They must have good communication and teamwork skills with an aptitude for attention to detail. In addition, the candidate must be highly self-motivated, have a positive attitude and be resourceful.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and maintain product certifications through various nationally recognized testing agencies
  • Submit required information/reports to regulatory agencies or local jurisdictions as needed
  • Develop and manage test plans for certification, development, and quality assurance testing for new and existing products and accessories
  • Conduct requested product testing and assist with tests with nationally recognized testing agencies
  • Complete submittals for new product efficiency and safety testing in compliance with federal and certification agency requirements
  • Create and update technical documents such as manuals, specification sheets, etc.
  • Work with Product Managers in updating and distributing new technical information to internal and external team members
  • Keep up to date with local, federal, and certification agency regulatory and standard changes
  • Create and manage certification and regulatory change status reports
  • Provide engineering support to sales representatives, installers, contractors, distributors, engineers and architects to ensure product installation compliance to company/code standards

Requirements:
  • Engineering degree from an accredited college/university or technical school
  • Experience submitting and obtaining residential HVAC certification
  • Hands-on experience in a lab testing environment
  • Ability to articulate product information concisely to all levels of customers: end-user, contractor, distributer, engineers and architects
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Able to manage productivity goals and quality standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Occasional travel and off-site visits for certification testing or R&D
  • Familiar with AHRI 210/240 test procedure and certification
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator
  • 3-5 years' experience in residential HVAC certification experience.
  • Knowledge of residential HVAC products such as furnace, air handler, AC and HP

**POSITION SUMMARY**
The Building Automations Systems Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, Configuring, and programming Software and Hardware for DDC Building Automation Systems. Southland Industries is a signatory contractor of local union 250. Experienced BAS Field Programmer/ Controls Engineer with expertise in Building Automation Systems to create Controls Programs and Systems Databases. This role involves working with our clients on creating a database of control programs and systems, programming, and installing the Control Systems for the clients' buildings. The BAS Field Programmer will facilitate documentation of systems' compliance with design. Strong leadership, effective communication, and a focus on client satisfaction are key to success. If you excel at BAS drawings, reviewing documentation, and complex challenges, this role is perfect for you.
**What you'll do:**
Professional Communication: Develop and maintain clear and professional communication with co-workers and clients.
Client Relationships: Build and nurture client relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.
BAS Drawings: Provide control drawings to engineering and drafting group.
Programming: Integrate system to on-bard micro-processors.
Controls Testing: Consistently testing and ensuring the quality of control program and testing documentation.
Team Leadership: Working with Installation Team to cross check and document correct installation of wiring and control devices.
Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve project-related issues to ensure smooth execution.
Procedural Adherence: Follow and uphold established Air Systems Management procedures.
**Qualifications:**
Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred
5+ Years Controls Experience
Ability to read construction blue prints and electrical schematics
Knowledge of HVAC control systems required
Knowledge of electrical schematics required
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
Strong knowledge of MS Office, Windows XP, file structure, basic TCP/IP network structure and web navigation
Knowledge of Visio a plus but not required
Knowledge of Distech Controls, Niagara certification, and/or other DDC controls
Clean Driving Record Required
Able to lift 30 lbs.
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Creative and proactive, utilizing resources to meet project goals efficiently

As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will be accountable to ensure that all assigned projects are properly scoped, designed and performed with an emphasis on strict scope, budget and schedule control. You will manage implementing assigned projects. You will perform accountabilities according to established operating procedures and will take an active role in continually improving these processes. The position objective is to manage each assigned project from creation to completion. The goal of this position is to complete projects within approved budget and schedule with the highest quality and in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
You will report to the Senior Program Manager.
**You Will:**
+ SAFETY: Manage overall project safety, obtaining final approval for contractor submitted safety plans and compliance to the project safety plan. Includes compliance to all regulatory (OSHA) requirements, corporate governance requirements and FAM SOGs.
+ PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT: Oversee the development, planning, execution and closeout of the project throughout the project life. Includes project design, development, implementation, budget, cash flow reporting and maintaining accurate EFCs for financial reporting, and maintenance of all job files.
+ TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION: Assemble project teams with internal and external resources to complete all assigned projects and oversee to ensure that they are working as an integrated team in delivering against project goals.
+ CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT: Provide support for the administration of contracts including scope of work, unit costing items, and bid alternates and operational constraints required for contract preparation.
+ PROJECT SCHEDULE: Manage the project schedule, establishing critical path tasks to ensure schedule compliance and ensuring proper man loading requirements of the contractor to achieve the desired completion date.
+ CLIENT COMMUNICATION: Coordinate operational constraints and job goals together as to achieve a seamless project; including communication with Partners, Clients and management regarding project status, schedule, financial and guest impacts.
+ TECHNICAL COMPETENCY: Technically competent with various software programs such as construction management software and Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Use project and contract management systems in the daily operation of the business.
+ PROCESS COMPETENCY: Manage the change order process within the department guidelines, while updating project budget and EFCs based on project driven cost trends.
**You Have:**
+ Six years of project management/construction management in hospitality, commercial, and industrial construction.
+ Knowledge of project management process and demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of projects more than $10M annually.
+ Knowledge of project accounting, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, document management, best value contracting, contract management and cost forecasting.
+ Knowledge of construction materials, methods and techniques. Familiarity with all construction applicable codes, i.e., UBC, NEC & UFC.
+ Ability to prepare presentations for department management review that drive related decisions.
+ Outstanding attention to detail and organization skills, as well as problem solving skills.
+ Leadership experience: You will be expected to manage and mentor an early career project manager. You could be expected to mentor participants from our Professional Intern Program.
+ Identify project related risks and propose mitigation plans.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Project management/construction management within a Theme Park environment.
**Required Education:**
+ Four-year college degree (BA/BS) in project/construction management or related field and 6+ years of applicable hands-on project/ construction experience
OR
+ 2 years of college and 8+ years of applicable hands-on project/ construction experience.
**Preferred Education:**
+ MBA in Project/Construction Management or related field.
