**Responsibilities**
The successful candidate will implement the administrative and technical aspects of the Central Characterization Program (CCP) Training and Qualification Program using the Department of Energy (DOE) Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), as required by DOE O 426.2, and applying the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). This role is essential in supporting workforce performance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in a highly technical and safety-conscious work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Ensure all training products meet or exceed applicable Orders, Standards, and Procedures.
+ Apply the DOE SAT process to develop and maintain effective technical and professional training programs.
+ Utilize the ADDIE model to manage all phases of instructional design, from analysis to evaluation.
+ Conduct Job Tasks Analysis (JTA), needs assessments, and training program evaluations.
+ Develop engaging and technically accurate training materials, including lesson plans, trainee guides, evaluation tools, and OJT performance measures.
+ Facilitate training sessions, including classroom and virtual training sessions.
+ Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME), management, and training peers, to ensure content is accurate, effective, and in alignment with operational and mission needs.

Although clinical needs have been the driving force behind the growth of hospital medicine nationally, our program has always had a major academic focus on research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Comprehensive Care Physician (CCP) Program is an innovative program within the Section of Hospital Medicine that provides patients with complex medical a physician who cares for them both in the hospital and the clinic. The CCP model has been studied in a randomized trial since 2012 with funding from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) and has shown statistically significant improvements to patient experience and health outcomes and decreases in hospitalization and spending. In addition, this model and study have evolved to since to better engage patients and address social determinants of health. Since, 2016 and with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and now the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), we have created and are evaluating the Comprehensive Care Community & Culture Program (C4P), which adds to CCP 1) systematic screening of unmet social needs, 2) access to a community health worker and 3) access to community-based arts and culture programming. C4P is also being evaluated through a randomized trial and has produced promising preliminary findings, particularly in activating patients. The C4P program is also being piloted at Ingalls Memorial Hospital and the CCP team is developing proposals to implement a more formal study of CCP/C4P at Ingalls as part of a multi-center randomized trial. As part of the C4P program, the team has also developed a series of programs to address clusters of unmet social needs including, 1) a Social Service Alignment Learning Collaborative to address patients experiencing many needs simultaneously, 2) a Healthy Living program to address patients with needs for healthy eating, food, and exercise, 3) a Living Well Financially program to address patients with needs for money and budgetary needs, and 4) a Roommates project to better understand and assist patients with housing-related needs. Job Summary The Section of Hospital Medicine seeks a Research Program Manager who will supervise the CCP/C4P research infrastructure, including a team of Research Coordinators and Research Assistants. The position will also directly oversee the C4P study and program at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. The CCP Research Program Manager manages a team of professional staff and volunteers responsible for research projects and related programming. Oversees research operations and ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates. **Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct UPMC wide auditing and monitoring to ensure coding/documentation combinations and medical record documentation adequately supports services coded and billed in accordance with the appropriate state and federal regulations and/or standards.
+ Validate the ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes or CPT and HCPCS ICD-10-CM-PCD and DRG assignment appropriateness to ensure consistency and efficiency in claims processing, data collection, and quality reporting.
+ Conduct audits on other compliance related topics as determined to evaluate compliance with the state and federal laws, regulations and policy.
+ Develop concise and well referenced audit workpapers.
+ Prepare written reports of audit results, including recommendations for improvement and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
+ Conduct post-audit compliance training sessions for physicians and non-physician practitioners as audit results dictate. These training sessions will include, but are not limited to, provision of education specific to the issues found on audit and will be largely based on the documentation, coding and billing rules as set forth by CMS and other relevant Federal and State regulatory agencies.
+ Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulatory trends and changes in coding policy and reimbursement methods.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Associates Degree or comparable technical school diploma is preferred.
+ 3 or more years of experience in medical coding, billing, auditing and compliance.
+ Extensive knowledge of CMS, and third-party payer coding, billing, and documentation compliance regulations required (MS-DRG, APR-DRG, APC, APG or ICD10-CM, HCPCS, CPT, Modifiers, etc.).
+ Knowledge of coding/classification systems appropriate for inpatient /outpatient, DRG prospective payment system or office setting E/M codes.
+ Experience in an academic medical center setting is strongly preferred.
