Summary:

The Certification Specialist shall provide Internal Review and Program Analysis services for National Guard Bureau's (NGB) Certification Program to the Family Programs Branch. NGB Certification Program is an OSD requirement that focuses on quality control management of Family Program services and delivery within the 54 states and territories designed to review the delivery of services to Service members, family members, and veterans (when eligible) to ensure a basic level of continuity among all State Family Program offices.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide support to the NGB Certification Program through coordination with NGB, G1, A1, SFPDs, AFRPM, and other certification POCs.
  • Coordinate with states virtual upload of required documents for standards.
  • Review and report state's certification status at monthly meetings and as requested by leadership.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

SUMMARY

  • Ensure that all recertifications are completed at least 30 days before lease expiration
  • Ensure all files, both digital and paper, are always properly maintained
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date status of transfer waiting lists and eviction tracker
  • Ensure all required information is uploaded/entered in Yardi and Elite, HANO's public housing monitoring system
  • Track of the unit inspections and be available to conduct unit inspections as needed
  • Assist property staff with answering property phone lines
  • Create work orders when a resident notifies your office of maintenance issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Must have compliance experience in the related industry
  • Ability to operate on a deadline-driven schedule and prioritize various tasks
  • Ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are required
  • Must comply with regulatory agreements and possess critical thinking, evaluation, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of LIHTC, HOME, and HUD programs is a plus. Compliance certification, such as COS or HCCP, is preferred
