**Job Purpose:**
The Property and Auto Physical Damage Claims Adjuster will be responsible for independently managing first-party commercial property damage claims, including losses to company-owned buildings, machinery, equipment, and vehicles. The role ensures timely and technically sound investigation, evaluation, and resolution of both property and auto physical damage claims, protecting the company's financial interests and operational continuity. This position is critical to maintaining service levels, controlling indemnity costs, and mitigating business interruption across multiple lines of exposure, while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
**Your Tasks:**
+ Investigate and manage first-party property and auto physical damage claims from first notice through final resolution.
+ Evaluate building, equipment, and vehicle damages, determine coverage applicability, and establish appropriate reserves.
+ Coordinate repairs with vendors, contractors, body shops, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely restoration of operations and assets.
+ Negotiate repair estimates and settlements in accordance with policy terms, fleet standards, and company guidelines.
+ Maintain accurate and detailed claim file documentation to support audit compliance, carrier reporting, and financial accuracy.
+ Collaborate closely with liability adjusters and other departments to ensure seamless claims handling across exposures.
+ Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities when third parties contribute to property or auto losses.
+ Provide regular claim updates, large-loss reports, and risk trend analyses to senior leadership.
+ Support recovery efforts with insurers and brokers in the event of major property or fleet claims exceeding retention levels.
+ Foster a positive, team-oriented environment by actively sharing knowledge, being open to feedback, and supporting colleagues across the claims department.
**Your Profile:**
+ 3-5+ years of first-party commercial property and/or auto physical damage claims handling experience, preferably in a corporate risk management or insurance carrier environment.
+ Experience managing claims involving commercial fleets, trailers, machinery, terminals, and building assets.
+ Active or obtainable adjuster's license(s) where required.
+ Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and claims experience accepted.
