**This is a Per Diem (as needed) position with no benefits.**
**The Seattle Children's Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center (ABC) is located in Bothell, WA, and provides lifelong learning and recreation opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.**
Provide direct support for participants taking recreational classes through Adult Life Skills Center. Participants in the program are 18 and older, and may have a variety of developmental, emotional, and behavioral problems, including Autism Spectrum Disorders. Duties may include managing participants before and after classes, providing direct support in small groups or individually as needed with adult participants helping prepare and clean classrooms,. This position will work in collaboration with members of the staff including; Operations Lead, Program Manager, Instructors and other Classroom Assistants. Provide oversight of participants in classes and community based outings, adhering to staffing ratios. Work to develop rapport with participants, effectively engaging them in tasks and classes.
**Required Education and Experience**
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
**Required Credentials**
**Preferred**
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in a community-based setting.
Experience working with multi-system involved adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental disabilities in a community or inpatient setting.
Psychology, Social Work, Sociology Bachelors Degree.
WA State Drivers License.
**Compensation Range**
$21.64 - $32.45 per hour
**Salary Information**
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

CACS, Inc. is hiring Part-Time Classroom Assistants for the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs in Ingham County. This is a 28-hour per week position, the rate of pay is $15.00 per hour with no CDA or $15.80 with a CDA. This position requires the ability to work Monday-Thursday and occasional Fridays.

The Classroom Assistants encourage children's development in a play-based learning environment. Provides respectful, playful, age-appropriate interactions with children. Assists the teacher and assistant teacher in meeting the social-emotional needs of the children and implements developmentally appropriate experiences. Provides support to the teaching team, families, and bus drivers during the arrival, transitions, and departure of children. Provides professional and reflective communication with co-workers and other departments. Participate in health and safety activities

Education and/or certification:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Coursework in Child Development leading to a CDA preferred.
  • Preferred work experience in a childcare or related setting.
  • Must be able to engage in effective communication and develop safe relationships with staff members, children, and families.

Job Duties:

  • Assists the teacher in planning and carrying out individualized instruction, for example: guiding physical activities indoor and outdoor; working on self-help skills such as eating and putting on coats; reinforcing learned skills and behaviors with verbal and emotional support; reading and listening to stories; and encouraging relationships with other children. Interacts with children in an effective and positive manner using positive discipline and/or redirection when necessary.
  • Assists the teacher and assistant teacher in assessing children's development, for example: taking anecdotal notes.
  • Prepares and participates in mealtime.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled training
  • Assists in maintaining the classroom in a clean, orderly and safe fashion
  • Physically interact with children at all times, in an appropriate and safe manner.
  • May provide childcare for parent activities and/or meetings
  • Assists bus driver in the boarding and exiting procedures, monthly bus evacuation drills, release procedures, and monitoring children's behavior while on the bus.
  • Documents incidents involving children, families, and staff
  • Assists with other duties as defined and/or requested
  • Adheres to all mandated reporter requirements
  • Be adaptable to working with different teams and in different areas, in four counties.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning

Primrose School of Centerville is an accredited private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
  • Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Centerville and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming.
  • Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Centerville Employee Handbook
  • Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
